Because an intercom engineer is NOT a gate automation engineer.

They can wire a handset — but they don’t understand the gate safety standards, the Code of Practice (DHF TS 013), or that your gate is legally powered machinery.

❌ They aren’t qualified to touch it.
❌ They aren’t insured to sign it off.
❌ They won’t check force limits, safety edges, or trapping zones.

When someone who doesn’t understand gate safety touches your gate — lives are put at risk.

Back here today to install the CCTV post and 180 Hikvision camera. Now if there is any damage or vandalism to the barrier it will all be caught for the client. What a pleasure it was!

Another long, hard day on the tools — but when the finished job looks this good, isn’t it all worth it? 💪

Another quality installation completed by BGNS, featuring a pedestrian gate with maglock, push-to-exit button and intercom, alongside a Hikvision pillar intercom and a fully automated 4-metre electric sliding gate.

Built using a combination of steel and composite, the finished gate is not only seriously robust but looks the part too. The DEA automation motor does exactly what it’s designed to do — smooth, reliable and spot on.

And the Hikvision intercom? Absolutely brilliant. Crisp, reliable and working a treat.

Another project completed to the highest standard. Another perfect installation from BGNS. 🔒⚡️

🚧 Another barrier system installed — and this one was a little different! ⛪️

Today we completed the installation of a full 5-metre DEA barrier system at St Richard’s Church on Mayfield Street, Averton.

The church has been experiencing ongoing issues with vehicles being left unattended in the car park by people who aren’t attending the church, particularly between weddings and funerals. The new barrier system will help the church control access to the car park and prevent unauthorised parking.

As an added layer of security, CCTV cameras are also being installed next week. This will provide peace of mind should there ever be any damage or issues with the barrier, allowing vehicle registrations to be captured and reported to insurers where necessary.
