Important message from Ross:
A quick word to anyone responsible for a commercial property.
I've been speaking to a few business owners recently who weren't aware that BT Redcare has now shut down.
If your alarm signaling was running through Redcare and nobody has checked it since the switch-off, it's worth doing.
The alarm may still set. It may still sound.
But that doesn't necessarily mean signals are reaching your monitoring station.
That's the bit that concerns me.
A lot of businesses assume that because nothing has gone wrong, everything must be working as normal. Unfortunately, that's not always the case.
If your signaling has stopped and nobody knows about it, you could be left without the level of protection your insurer expects.
I'm not trying to scare anyone. It's simply something that's easy to overlook.
A quick check can confirm:
✅ Your signaling is live
✅ Your monitoring station is receiving signals
✅ Your system remains compliant
✅ You haven't been caught out by the Redcare closure
We've already helped a number of businesses move over to modern dual-path signaling and, in most cases, it's a straightforward fix.
If you're unsure what signaling your system uses, drop me a message or give the office a call. We'd rather answer a simple question today than help deal with a problem after a break-in.
