⚡ We've just delivered the North East's largest public EV charging facility!

Working alongside RAW Charging, our team has completed the design and installation of 8 x 150kW chargers and 2 x HYC 300 DC chargers at Sunderland AFC, providing 20 ultra-rapid charging bays.

Our scope of works included:
• Substation, earthing and feeder pillar installation
• Charger bases, protective bollards and signage
• Reinstatement of multiple surfaces, including concrete, stone, tarmac and grass, with additional landscaping works.

🤝 From the initial design and installation of the charging infrastructure through to the final groundworks and reinstatement, our team played a key role in delivering this major EV charging project.

A significant project for our team and another great example of our ability to deliver EV charging infrastructure, from initial design through to final reinstatement.

👋 Say hello to our first-ever Training Academy cohort!

A new generation of civil engineers starts here...

💡 This week, Bethell welcomed seven students to our bespoke groundworks training facility in Leeds for the start of their 12-week groundworks programme, developing essential civil engineering skills.

Each student will get hands-on with the fundamentals of civil engineering, including paving, drainage, kerbing and more!

👍 Upon graduation, each student will also be offered a full-time apprenticeship at Bethell where they can continue their learning and development.

⚽ Enhancing the matchday experience at Elland Road!

On behalf of Leeds City Council, Bethell delivered footpath improvements to enable the relocation of a zebra crossing outside the stadium.

☑️ This will improve pedestrian safety, especially for home and away supporters during busy matchdays.

⚡🚗 These all-electric SUVs are one of a kind!

Bethell are the first civil engineering company in the UK to invest in these all-electric Ford Explorer SUVs!

🔌 All four vehicles will be deployed on-site to assist with the delivery of our growing workload of civil engineering schemes, while helping to reduce emissions from our operations.

This latest investment supports our ambition to become a carbon net-zero organisation by 2050 and halve our emissions by 2030.

✨ Creating spaces that make a difference.

When Etherstone Day Centre in Leigh needed support to transform its garden, our team stepped in!

🌱 Bethell installed new surfacing, planters, and outdoor furniture, creating an accessible and welcoming space for visitors to enjoy.

The Mayoress of Wigan was invited to cut the ribbon at the official opening, where it was fantastic to see Etherstone's regulars enjoying the new space.

🌻 A huge thank you to our team for their hard work and commitment in bringing the garden to life and creating a space that will be enjoyed for years to come.

🤝 Lending a helping hand in Burneside!

A group of Bethell volunteers came together to deliver very some important (though slightly unglamorous!) projects for the Burneside community.

🧹✨ The team got together to clear out the church tower at St. Oswald's and take away redundant items from the town's flood storage garage.

To fund the delivery of community projects in Burneside, United Utilities and Bethell also made a donation to the parish.

🚰 Bethell are currently working in the area on behalf of United Utilities to construct a new pumping station.

This work will help reduce sewer flooding and is part of the Big North West Upgrade, a £900 million investment in the county, making Cumbria stronger, greener and healthier.

⭐ Thank you to all the members of the Burneside site team, especially Darren, Jamie, Louie, and Jacob, who left a big impact on the community thanks to their efforts!

🛣️ This major road was completely transformed in just 54 hours.

Working on behalf of principal contractor BAM UK & Ireland, Bethell built and diverted the A62 onto a new alignment over a new bridge constructed by BAM.

⏱️ All works were delivered within a tight timeframe, working around the clock from Friday evening to the early hours of Monday morning.

The diversion forms part of the wider £2bn The Transpennine Route Upgrade West project, bringing better journeys to customers travelling across the Pennines.

🤝 Great achievement by the Bethell team and our supply chain: WT Jenkins, Tarmac, and Premier Roadmarkings Ltd.
