♻️ Digital Waste Tracking Is Here ♻️

Today marks a big change for the waste industry, with the new Digital Waste Tracking rules coming into force across England and Wales.

In our latest video, our MD James talks us through what’s changing, what it means for the industry and how we’ve been preparing here at Morley Skips.

So, What’s Changing? From today:
🚛 Permitted waste receiving sites must digitally report the controlled waste they receive.

🚛 Records need to include information including the waste type and classification, carrier and receiver details, quantities and relevant hazardous/POPs information.

🚛 Information must be submitted through the new Report Receipt of Waste system within 2 working days of receiving the waste.

🚛 The aim is to create clearer, more consistent records of where waste is coming from and where it goes.

♻️ Why The Change?
Digital Waste Tracking is being introduced to improve transparency across the waste industry, give regulators better information about waste movements and help tackle waste crime.

For us, it’s another important step in making sure the waste we collect and process is handled responsibly, compliantly and with a clear audit trail.

⚠️ How To Get Rid Of Plasterboard ⚠️

If you’re getting rid of plasterboard, it needs to be kept separate.

♻️ Why?
Plaster and plasterboard can’t simply be mixed in with general waste. Because they contain gypsum, they need to be separated and disposed of correctly.

⚠️ Keep Plasterboard Separate
As James explains in our latest video, if you’ve got plasterboard to get rid of, let us know when you book your skip and we’ll help make sure you’ve got the right setup for your waste.
