Enjoyed spending part of this very wet afternoon playing around with laying patterns for a project later this year, using this beautiful Antique Yellow Limestone, and catching up with Pete from Lenham Outdoor Living.

For a while, natural stone has taken a back seat to manufactured alternatives, but we're definitely seeing more clients drawn back to the authenticity that real stone can provide.

Materials like this have been used in gardens for centuries.

Well, that’s phase one of our big Japanese garden build almost over the line. Just a bit of pointing left to finish up.

This project has been over a year in the planning. We first broke ground last September for the drainage and pond works, returned in February for this main construction phase, will be back again in September for the planting, and then returning once more in the new year to tackle the front garden.

A huge thank you to the team for everything they’ve put into this one. Projects on this scale take an enormous amount of planning, coordination and craftsmanship behind the scenes, and I think this garden is starting to show exactly what can be achieved when everybody pulls together.

Absolutely chuffed with how it’s coming together so far.

Those who know me well will know I’m a massive fan of black fencing paired with green planting. It’s a combination that can sometimes scare potential clients a little and is often met with a degree of scepticism at first.

I went back to see a really lovely client in Maidstone today, and I don’t think my point could have been illustrated any better than this. The idea was initially met with slight caution. Im not mad afterall 🤣 And trust was built along the way, hopefully, the results now speak for themselves.

It was a real pleasure to redesign this small outdoor space and even better to go back and see the difference the team has made to someone’s property and, more importantly, the way they enjoy life outdoors. Moments like that genuinely make work a pleasure.

Looking forward to watching this lovely little garden mature over the coming years.

Another successful install from Zain and the small works team. Finished using Kendal Grey sandstone with a touch of planting to soften the space and tie it all together nicely.

We’re really proud of the progress Zain has made over the last few years. Watching him grow in confidence, take responsibility on projects and continue improving his standards has been great to see. A proper credit to the team and another quality job completed by Cowen Landscapes.

Health & safety isn’t just paperwork and box ticking to us, it’s about looking after each other properly at work and making sure everyone goes home safe at the end of the day.

Training like this is an important part of building a strong culture within Cowen Landscapes, where people take pride in working safely, professionally and looking out for one another on site.

Some of the team completed their health & safety course today and it was great to see everyone getting involved and engaged throughout the session. Well done lads 👏
