Kees Glass Limited

This year February was one of our busiest on record. It started with this lovely house, having to remove over 70 panes of single glass, and then fit Planithermal Double Glazed Units into the original frames. All we have left now to do is to remove and repair the stained glass and refit with a protective toughened glass in front, and to template the arch topped window to make a Double Glazed Unit to fit into the existing frame also. Another happy customer. A Decorator is scheduled to start next month.

I was asked by our Joinery Supplier to look at fitting a replacement window in Hook, Hampshire for them. It turned out well. A bit awkward working over the tiled roof, but another challenge another day! There were some repairs to do too, and the wildlife was pretty amazing.

Some of the jobs inline in the coming weeks ahead, and one big job for the new year, consisting of double glazed unit replacements, arch top window replacement including crittall frame maintenance and lead light repairs, and changing single glass to double glazed into existing old frames which will include carpentry onsite to add Georgian style panes to all top fanlight windows on front elevation.

I’m glad we got these done before the hot weather kicked in.

This job involved removing a stained glass Crittall Window, cutting off an internal double rebate from the sub-frame and fitting a new Transom bar to take a new top opening timber sash with new double glazed glass units. Fiddly of course, but another happy customer!

Busy week working on some older buildings again. One Church in Maidenhead, and a converted building in Windsor in need of Lead Window repairs.
