Turning the page to future careers 📚👷

We’ve been busy sharing Molly in Construction books with local schools and businesses connected to our projects across the UK - all with the aim of opening young minds to the world of construction.

We have recently donated books to:
Manor Park Academy
Children’s Department at Heartlands Hospital
New Cross Hospital Children’s Ward

We hope these books will spark curiosity and inspire the next generation to explore the diverse career opportunities available within construction.

Henry Brothers recently welcomed students from Nottingham College to our Nottingham Community Diagnostic Centre site for a series of educational site visits.

The visits gave Level 3 Construction Support Technician Apprentices and Level 4 Site Supervisors and Civil Engineering students the opportunity to experience a live construction project and learn more about the wide range of roles involved in delivering it.

Seeing a live project in action helped students understand how their learning can evolve into future careers within the industry.

Henry Brothers marked the completion of Belper Health Centre with a key handover ceremony.

Contract Manager, Liam Chapman, formally handed over the keys to DCHS Chief Executive Jim Austin and Non-Executive Director Kay Fawcett OBE, marking an important milestone as the centre moves closer to opening its doors to patients and the local community.

Designed with sustainability in mind, the new facility will provide a wide range of healthcare services, including physiotherapy, podiatry, community nursing and outpatient clinics.

Henry Brothers recently donated a water butt to Spires Integrated Primary School, helping the school boost its water‑saving efforts and encouraging pupils to think about sustainability.

The water butt will allow rainwater to be collected and reused around the grounds - reducing reliance on mains water, supporting plant growth and promoting environmental awareness among pupils.

We welcomed pupils from Rainey Endowed School to our New Head Office project, joined by their teacher, Mr Hutchinson.

As part of their Site Engineering Surveying camp, students got hands on experience to support their B-Tech Double Award Construction assessment - taking part in linear, angular and levelling exercises on a live project.

Seeing these activities in action gave them a real understanding of how engineering principles are applied day to day. It was a pleasure to support their learning and help build confidence in their developing skills.

🚧 Helping children stay safe around construction sites.

As part of our work on the Frogston Primary School project, Henry Brothers visited St Catherine’s Primary School to deliver an interactive construction safety talk.

Pupils learned about the dangers of entering construction sites through real-life examples, PPE demonstrations and plenty of discussion. It was fantastic to see so much enthusiasm and engagement from the children throughout the session.

A big thank you to St Catherine’s Primary School for the warm welcome and to all the pupils for taking part.

Henry Brothers attended Nottingham College’s Construction Careers and Employer Event, where Assistant Site Manager Harvey Kay spoke with students about the many pathways into the construction industry.

Henry Brothers recently welcomed Level 3 Construction students from Northern Regional College Magherafelt to our New Head Office project for a live site visit.

Following a project presentation, students explored the site and learned more about key elements of the build, including brickwork, site safety, flooring and roofing. The visit also provided an opportunity to ask questions about careers in construction and gain valuable industry insight.

We look forward to welcoming the students back in the new academic year to see how the project has progressed.
