HMS has been out and about across Leicester, installing Golden Amber resin bound tree pits for Leicester City Council 🌳

Our team has recently completed installations along Melton Road and at Magazine Square in Leicester city centre, helping to provide a smart, practical finish around established and newly planted trees.

Resin bound surfacing is particularly well suited to tree pits, providing a durable and attractive finish while allowing water to permeate through the surface to the tree roots below.

The Golden Amber aggregate also provides a natural appearance that works well within both streetscape and public realm environments.

Another great example of the smaller details that can make a big difference to our urban spaces!

🌿 Back at Parsonage Place for visit two!

The HMS team has returned to the Bellway Homes development at Parsonage Place, Church Road, Otham, Maidstone, working for Kearns & Co to continue installing the public open-space footpaths.

This latest visit saw us complete a further 200m² of Spring Walk resin bound surfacing, creating attractive, durable pedestrian routes through the development’s landscaped public spaces.

🏡 Back in Towcester for visit three!

Our team has returned to this housing development in Towcester, working with T&W Civil Engineering to install a further 500m² of Golden Amber resin bonded surfacing to the public open space (POS) footpaths.

The Golden Amber finish provides a natural-looking surface that complements the surrounding landscaping while creating clearly defined, durable pedestrian routes throughout the development.

Another section complete, and great to see the wider scheme continuing to take shape!

🌉 Phase One complete on the M48 Severn Bridge!

A great set of finished photos from our latest works on the M48 Severn Bridge, where the HMS team has completed the first phase of high friction surfacing.

Working with VolkerLaser on the bridge managed by National Highways, with Amey as the main contractor, our team installed a BBA HAPAS Type 1 High Friction Surfacing system to provide a durable, high-performance finish.

HMS is an approved installer of BBA HAPAS-certified high friction surfacing systems, with installations carried out to meet the relevant National Highways specifications.

Phase one covered approximately 1,000m², with a further 1,000m² to follow during the second visit.

A strong finish to the first phase — and another major highways project for the HMS team.

🌉 Behind the scenes on the M48 Severn Bridge

Not a bad location for the HMS team this week.

We're working for VolkerLaser as part of resurfacing works on the A48 Severn Bridge, managed by National Highways, with Amey as main contractor.

Over two visits, we'll be installing around 2,000m² of grey bauxite high-friction surfacing, with approximately 1,000m² delivered during this first visit.

Here's a look behind the scenes at the preparation, installation and team delivering the works.

🏡 Golden Amber resin bound driveways at Nicker Hill!

Another residential development taking shape, with the HMS team installing approximately 650m² of Golden Amber resin bound surfacing to driveways at Redrow Homes’ Nicker Hill development for C3 Construction.

On behalf of the client, we incorporated colour-matched foam expansion joints, designed to accommodate natural movement within the surface while maintaining a neat, consistent finish across the driveways.

A practical detail that supports the long-term performance of the surfacing without compromising appearance.

Another great example of resin bound paving delivering a durable, low-maintenance and attractive finish for new-build residential developments.
