Well it's finally back to school tomorrow for us Leicestershire folk!

Here's a snapshot of just some of the outdoor projects we have completed during the summer holidays 🌞

From a new patio and new decking to gates and a replacement bin store area... also bespoke side lean-to shed in progress.

There is definitely a theme of outdoor woodworking that has been going on over these last few jobs but with weather like it's been great to be outside creating and building.

We are looking for an additional Labourer for the busy summer period, experienced prefered but not essential. We carry out various internal and external property improvements, building work, landscaping, carpentry.

CIS or PAYE basis.
Generally 08:00-17:00 (we are looking for 3-4 days per week)

Longer term work available for the right candidate.

After juggling 3 jobs for the last 7 weeks or so it's finally time for a family holiday.

From knocking down walls, putting in steels, re-building an extension, adding bi folding doors, supply and fitting an oak porch and steps, fitting part of a kitchen, levelling floors, plastering, supply and fitting metal gates, various repairs - we did it all, through extremely hot days at times

We may have been a little slower this week but we are only human after all..

The iced coffees were definately a helping hand..

From fitting new bespoke gates to knocking down walls ready for new bi fold doors to cladding an extension and levelling floors....

🔨 Monthly Jobs Round-Up🔨

It's been another busy month with a mix of landscaping, structural alterations, renovations and bespoke carpentry projects.

🌿 Front Garden Transformation
✔ Removing an old moss-covered lawn
✔ Removing a caterpillar-infested box hedge
✔ Laying a new pathway
✔ Levelling the garden
✔ Installing dove grey gravel throughout
✔ Replacing a small picket fence and gate
✔ Creating a framed patio area using sleepers

🏡 Jobs In Progress (Returning Customer)
🔹 Oak-framed steps with resin-bound/glued gravel finish
🔹 Footings completed and ready for a new oak porch installation
🔹 Bespoke black steel honeycomb side gates on order
🔹 Lifting, relaying and re-grouting a grey sandstone path that had previously been laid incorrectly on mortar spots without primer

🔨 Internal Renovation Works
✔ Removed an internal wall and supporting pillar
✔ Removed the existing steel beam and installed a longer beam
✔ Opened up three separate rooms into one large kitchen/dining space

🏗 Extension Rebuild
Another ongoing project has involved: ✔ Demolishing a sub-standard 1980s timber-framed extension
✔ Rebuilding the structure while supporting and retaining the existing roof
✔ Reusing the existing concrete base
✔ Upgrading insulation from 50mm to 100mm within the walls
✔ Adding 30mm insulated plasterboard internally for improved thermal performance
✔ Beginning the process of levelling floors across four different rooms to bring everything to the same finished height

⏳ These projects are currently awaiting the manufacture and delivery of the oak porch, steel gates, french doors and kitchen, so this week we'll be starting another exciting job:

➡ Removing two windows and the brickwork between
➡ Installing a steel beam
➡ Fitting new bi-fold doors

🌧️ Another glorious day in the British Springtime...
The forecast promised "sunny intervals" – we're still waiting for the interval. ☔

While everyone else is wondering if summer will ever make an appearance, the team at CGM Solutions are working hard, indoors and outdoors, moving jobs moving forward nicely, come rain or shine (let's face it, mostly rain...)

Update on the largest summerhouse we’ve built to date — 6m x 4m — and it’s now complete! 🙌
This fully bespoke garden building has been designed as a stylish multi-purpose space, finished to an incredibly high standard throughout.
✨ Features include: • Full insulation
• Electrics throughout
• Smart heater & WiFi
• Gorgeous thermo wood cladding
• Anthracite uPVC double glazed windows & doors
• Durable, zero-maintenance rubber roof
We also completed all groundworks for the project, including: ✔ Relocation of the existing shed
✔ Reinforced base installation on a sloping garden (yes, we love a challenge!)
