HBH Contractors HBH Contractors are a well established, family run company providing a full range of services to meet all of your constructions needs all under one roof.

Having completed an apprenticeship in Heating and Plumbing, Andrew served in the British Army as a Royal Engineer & Chantelle worked within the Accounting and Finance industry. From repairing a small leak to complete bathroom refurbishments. From carrying out boiler services to fitting complete heating systems. Andrew quickly discovered his success within the plumbing and heating industry. Hammonds Bathroom and Heating was incorporated in 2012 & this was just the start of new and exciting things to come. After 7 successful years trading as an LLP the decision was made to register as an LTD, Hammonds Bathroom Heating and Plumbing was created in 2018. Two years on it quickly became apparent that the company name didn't quite fit. HBH still specialising in Heating and plumbing discovered that refurbishments and remodels had moved within different areas of the home. Andrew and his team have successfully carried out all aspects within the Construction Industry over the last few years :-)

🔨 A little behind the scenes from our new bathroom suite job we have started!

This week's been all about strip-out and first fix — clearing back the old plaster and ceiling, and getting the new stud walls framed up ready for the next stage.

Not the most glamorous part of the job, but it's where the important groundwork happens. 👷‍♂️

🔨 NEW PROJECT | SITE PROGRESS

We’re making a start on a new project in St Albans, transforming the existing space into a brand-new bathroom suite.

The work is currently at the early stages, with the room stripped back and preparations underway. We’re carrying out the necessary first-fix work, including new timber studwork, insulation and electrical preparations, ready for the next stages of the renovation.

Working carefully around the existing structure, while making sure everything behind the walls is properly prepared before the finishes go in.

Another project underway, another space taking shape. 👷‍♂️

🔨 PROGRESS ON SITE.

This week saw us replastering the back wall and chimney breast, bringing it back to a smooth, ready-to-decorate finish.

Alongside this, we also carried out various boiler works at the property — making sure everything below the surface is running as it should, not just what you can see.

One stage at a time, getting the details right. 👷‍♂️

🔨 PROGRESS UNDER THE FLOOR.

Another week of work in progress, with the existing flooring opened up and the floor structure exposed.

We’re installing acoustic roll insulation between the floor joists, helping improve sound reduction before the new flooring system is installed. It’s the kind of work that might not be seen once the project is finished, but makes an important difference to the finished space.

One stage at a time, getting the details right. 👷‍♂️

🏡 THE START OF SOMETHING NEW.

This week marks the beginning of a full bathroom renovation — and it starts with stripping everything back.

Out with the old tiling, the tired shower enclosure and the original fittings, making way for a complete transformation. It's not the most glamorous part of the process, but it's one of the most important — getting back to bare bones so we can build it right.

🔨 One team. One point of contact. One clear plan.

From strip-out to final finish, we manage every trade and stage of the project — so our clients don't have to.

📍 Proudly working across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire & London.

👉 Follow along as this bathroom comes together over the coming weeks.

🏡 Dunstable Project - Garden Room: Frame & Insulation Complete

Progressing nicely on this Dunstable garden room build – the timber frame is now fully up, and we've moved on to insulating the structure throughout, using a combination of rigid board and wool insulation across the walls and roof to keep the space warm and energy-efficient year-round.

With the sub-floor also now laid, the room is really starting to take shape. Next up: the external cladding, glazing, and internal finishes - transforming this into a fully functional garden room that extends the living space right out into the garden.

Garden rooms like this one are a brilliant way to add flexible space to a home - whether it's used as a home office, gym, or a quiet spot to unwind - without the cost and disruption of a full extension.

More updates to follow as we move through the next stages.

🏡 Harpenden Project – Stage 5 of 5: The Final Stage

The final stage of our Harpenden project brings everything together — with extensive works to both the front of the property and the existing garage.

At the front of the house, the works included new windows, a new front door and porchway, replacement brickwork, and the gable ends being bricked up to replace the existing tiled finish. The driveway was also completely transformed, giving the property a fresh and modern exterior.

Inside the garage, we created a brand-new reception/TV room, including new electrics, plastered walls and a complete conversion of the existing space into a comfortable and functional part of the home.

We also added a dedicated bike and bin store, helping to keep everything organised while making the most of the available space.

This final stage has completely transformed the appearance, functionality and kerb appeal of the property – bringing the entire project to a close.

It’s been a fantastic transformation from start to finish, and we’re proud to have delivered another complete project for our clients in Harpenden. 🔨🏡
