Project Focus: Linden Grove, Southwark

Providing 27 new homes for affordable rent, Linden Grove is a residential development delivered by Bugler in partnership with Southwark Council, completed earlier this year.

Working with Bugler, Sheriff Construction delivered the roofing package across a mix of apartments and terraced houses, incorporating several different roofing systems and finishes.

From biodiverse green roofs through to pitched roofing and slate cladding, the varied nature of the scheme made this a particularly interesting project for our roofing team.

Take a closer look at our work at Linden Grove below. 👇

Could tackling construction's skills gap start before young people even leave school?

New Government plans aim to significantly increase work experience opportunities for 14–16-year-olds and strengthen vocational education – with construction named among the sectors that could benefit.

In our latest blog, we look at why earlier exposure to the world of work could help young people discover the huge variety of careers our industry has to offer, and how work experience, apprenticeships and employer engagement can help turn that first introduction into something more.

We’re also sharing some of the ways Sheriff is playing its part in developing the next generation – so read the full blog below. 👇

For many young people, the first time they seriously think about a career is when they're on the brink of leaving school and trying to make important decisions about what to do next. But could giving young people greater exposure to the world of work at an earlier age help them make more informed

Team Sheriff completed the 10K!

A huge well done to our Sheriff runners who took on the Love Luton RunFest 10K yesterday and made it across the finish line!

It was fantastic to see our team challenging themselves, supporting one another and joining hundreds of other runners taking to the streets of our home town.

As a proud sponsor of Love Luton, we're always pleased to support events that bring our community together – but it's even better when members of our own team get involved too!

A big thank you to Love Luton and everyone involved in organising another fantastic RunFest, as well as all the friends, family and colleagues who came along to support the runners. And, most importantly, well done Team Sheriff!

Good luck Team Sheriff!

Several members of our team are taking part in the Love Luton RunFest tomorrow, challenging themselves to complete the 10K route around our home town.

As a proud sponsor of this fantastic community event, we’d like to wish our Sheriff runners – and everyone else taking part across the 5K, 10K and half marathon – the very best of luck!

Enjoy the experience and we’ll see you at the finish line!

Sometimes the most important thing we can do is listen.

Tomorrow is World Mental Health Day, and this year's theme – ‘Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change’ – highlights the importance of listening to and learning from people's real experiences of mental health.

At Sheriff Construction, we recognise that starting a conversation about mental health matters – but so does how we respond when someone chooses to open up. So, if someone talks to you about how they're feeling, here are six simple ways you can help them feel heard:

• Choose the right time and space – give them your full attention somewhere they feel comfortable.
• Listen to understand – let them share as much or as little as they want, without judgement.
• Ask open questions – give them space to explore how they're feeling rather than rushing to offer solutions.
• Validate their experience – acknowledge how they feel without making assumptions or comparisons.
• Show empathy – focus on understanding their perspective; listening is more important than giving advice.
• Help them find their own next steps – listen first, then help them think about what might support them.

Find out more about World Mental Health Day and access free resources from Mental Health UK below. 👇

World Mental Health Day takes place on Saturday 10 October 2026. This year, our theme focuses on the power of being heard and how feeling heard can help us feel understood, less alone and better able to cope with life’s challenges.

Luton residents – please spare a minute to support NOAH Enterprise!

We're pleased to share that NOAH Enterprise, a fantastic local charity that Sheriff Construction is supporting in several ways, has been shortlisted for funding through the Luton Rising Partnership Fund.

Luton residents now have the opportunity to vote for the charitable and community organisations they'd most like to see receive funding – and we'd love to see NOAH among those selected!

Voting closes tomorrow (Friday 9th October), so there's not much time left.

If you're a Luton resident aged 16 or over, you can vote for up to three shortlisted causes. It takes less than a minute, and we'd be grateful if you could make NOAH one of your choices.

Please cast your vote today and help spread the word! Scan the QR code or vote online here - https://secure.cesvotes.com/V3-4-0/LutonVote/en/login?bbp=109841&x=-1

What's shaping the UK construction industry this autumn?

Housing delivery remains under pressure. Skills shortages continue to challenge the sector. Building safety is firmly in the spotlight. Infrastructure investment is creating opportunities. And cost pressures haven't gone away.

Challenges remain, but so do opportunities. Read the full blog below. 👇

What does doing business the right way really mean?

For Sheriff, it goes beyond simply complying with rules and policies. It's about the everyday decisions we make, the way we treat people and taking responsibility for protecting the standards and reputation we've built over many years.

As our business continues to grow, we've introduced a new Code of Ethics and Conduct to provide a clear framework for everyone representing Sheriff. In our latest blog, we explain why we've introduced the Code, what it means in practice and why setting standards is only the starting point. Read the full blog below. 👇

While Sheriff has grown considerably since the business was first established over two decades ago, some things haven't changed. Trust, respect, keeping our promises and taking pride in the quality of our work have always been fundamental to the way we do business. As a business grows, however,

Supporting Wigmore Primary School

Earlier this year, we were delighted to become one of the key sponsors of Wigmore Primary School’s 28-mile ‘Wembley to Wigmore’ Challenge, helping to raise funds towards the redevelopment of the school playground.

Alongside our £1,000 donation, we also pledged to provide some practical support with the installation work where we could.

So, last week, members of our team headed to the school to prepare and create the bases for new basketball posts, which are now ready for the final stages of installation.

A big thank you to everyone from Sheriff who got involved and helped us provide this additional support to the school.
