✨Sale Report: The Portcullis Auction Room 20th August 2026 ✨

McCartneys Portcullis Auction Room report another successful sale on 20th August. There was considerable pre-sale interest and enthusiastic bidding from the internet platforms and in the room. Silver and gold jewellery continue to exceed expectations with most realising well above pre-sale top estimates.

There were 455 lots of antiques and art offered, all privately entered or from local house clearances, comprising the usual eclectic mix of oak, mahogany and pine English and Continental furniture; oil and watercolour paintings; silver; jewellery; ceramics and glass; antique textiles; ephemera; rugs and carpets and works of art.

Similar lots are invited for entry into the forthcoming sale on 17th September. Consignment and valuation days will be held on

McCartneys Portcullis Auction Room report an excellent sale on the 16th April. There was considerable pre-sale interest and spirited bidding from the internet platforms and in the room.

There were in excess of 470 lots of antiques and art offered, all privately entered or from local house clearances, one of which was an extensive single owner collection of ceramics which included Royal Worcester; Royal Doulton; Beswick and other factories.
