The latest of our installs involved clearing and then building up the sides of the fireplace and keying into the original brickwork. The customer was keen to use reclaimed materials where we could some of which had been found at the property itself, for example the bricks used to make the hearth. It was a pleasure to bring this old fireplace back to life as part of an ongoing renovation process, now we hand over to Abode Plastering to complete the look.

A very busy week last week with 3 jobs on simultaneously, this is how we concluded the week with a knock out rebuild and install. The chimney had been removed previously so after finding the original chamber we used a flexible liner upto the point the chimney had been taken down and using a swap over plate then ran a twin wall system through the roof. Using a piece of natural slate from Ludlow Salvage we cut the hearth onsite to fit the room size. The customer was delighted to receive the fire place and give the room a whole new lease of life

And the jobs keep coming, this job involved stopping water leaking into the chimney and ultimately done onto the stove below. A combination of no lead flashing and stepped bricks in the chimney had resulted in corrosion and water finding its way in.
The answer? We created 4 tiled roof covers for the 4 sections replaced the mortar joints and put in new lead work both aprons and flashing to seal the chimney. We are very busy with jobs just like this making sure chimneys are ready for burning season
