EICR - Electrical Installation Condition Report

This is Unfortunetly why it is so important to have these carried out when buying a new home.

Recent customers of ours had moved in to find little gremlins such as switches being upside down and not working correctly when two or more were in the same room. They also asked us to carry out some other works along with an EICR or the property.

The bungalow had supposedly been rewired just before moving in, admittedly it had but clearly on a tight budget and timescale. Some of the work quite simply waiting to cause trouble. Key pages from the test sheets were missing which instantly raised alarm bells.

These pictures are just some example of what we found and had to rectify, louse connection, very poor workmanship, routing of cables over joists in the loft, MCB’s not even connected soundly, main tails not connected securely or to the full depth of the terminals.

This is prime reason to stop and ask for paperwork upfront from the agents and seek advise if unsure.

Kitchen installation we were part of earlier this year.

This has now become a great living space.

Along with the kitchen refurbishment we also replaced the old split load consumer unit with the current regulations complaint FuseBox board packed with RCBO’s for full future proofing.

EICR- Electrical Installation Condition Report

We carry out many of these all over east Anglia, this one in particular was an holiday cottage in Walblerswick, Suffolk.

A selection of issues highlighted to the customers which were timely rectified. The regular offenders we often find are out of date smoke detection, damaged accessories and fuses incorrectly sized for specific appliances.

All of which are a must fix when homes are rented out

Shame didn’t get more pictures of the installation works, got a bit carried away. Cables were routed between the main office switch room to outside via ducting, suspended ceilings and under raised flooring

Customer already has solar and battery storage installed so Zappi fits in perfectly capturing any excess before sending it off to the grid.

Admittedly this is from September last year. Glorious day to be up on the roof connecting up the new starch silo level management

We installed a predetermined design package along side the base maintenance team. Our part was installation of equipment provided, routing cables too and from accessories located at the base and atop of the silo and initial power up.

Took a couple of visits to get the lightning in the best positions to allow the light to really make the difference.
