Based in Maidstone Kent, we offer a wide range of repair and customization work, from a loose strap pin, to, fret work, electrical repairs, to headstock breaks and re finishing. Supplying:- Seymour Duncan, Lace Sensor pickups and Towner Vibrato systems. My experience has been gained through years of being a gigging and touring musician. What started as me learning to set up my own guitars, grew to friends guitars, and then into a business. I have a keen eye for detail but always striving to learn more about guitars and luthiery. Drop off can be made at either my home, my print studio (in Ashford) via courier or in person. Getting to that time of year again. Been slowly working on a load of guitar related gifts for a big Christmas show I’ve got booked. Got the pick holders finished up yesterday. Might make some more crackle ones for the website shop if you guys are interested??

Keeping up this week’s theme of judging guitars. Here’s an all aluminium rickenbacker!!! Sounded cool, weighed as much as a small country. Riddled with problems. Got it working as best as I could with a £65 setup……. As it’s needed like £500 worth of work to put it right!!

Went to New York City! Walked 43 miles and cycled 6 in three days. My feet are in bits haha. Saw a bunch of cool stuff. But as this is a guitar page.. I’ll give you the guitar highlights. Meet Rick and Cindy at Rick Kelly 𝐂𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐲 𝐇𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐣 𝐂𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐬 both lovely people that showed me their shop and chatted for a bit. Finally got to meet Evan from Evan Gluck I’ve spoken to Evan most days since Covid!!! And he’s given me a lot of good advice over the years. So it was nice to finally meet in person and have a hug. Got to meet Matt at 30th Street Guitars and check out his workshop and the prototype fret bars! I got tattooed at New York Hardcore Tattoos which sucked walking 16 miles on the next day haha. Little drama on the way to the airport, our driver wrecked his car! Luckily we were fine and jumped in a taxi. And got home to a £2400 bill to fix our car that broke down the day before holiday! 🤦‍♂️

Finished up this explorer project. My customer Steve built himself a guitar years ago using a mahogany bar top and an Ibanez neck. It’s been through a couple of changes over the years. And then his mate painted his and Steve wanted to one up him 😂😂. The original plan was to fill the holes, sand it back, stick a veneer on it and give it a moody red to the black burst. Turns out I couldn’t find a veneer big enough so plan b was to get a top! This, then turned into a way bigger project! I had to route 5mm off the top of the guitar, which chipped the s**t out of the sides. Joint and template the top around the neck. Glue the top in place. Route and shape to the body. Fill and repair the sides. Route out the back for a better fitting back plate. The original scope of the work wasn’t to spray the back and sides… but I took one for the team and shot them in black. Stained the top black. Sanded it back and then a moody red. Sprayed a black burst and pulled it round the edges. Shot some clear on it. Sanded it flat, buffed it out to high gloss. Re assembled. Strung up, setup, job done. Got a crazy idea to get one up on your mate. Hit me up haha.

Re fretted this cool koa Taylor Guitars the customer had played the frets down to the board. Also made a new bone nut for it. Got@a guitar that needs a setup or repair?? Drop offs available in Lowestoft and Norwich.

Latest re fin. This cool J came in for a colour swap from rattle can black to a cool light green with a nitro top coat. The custom also wanted some options for a new guard so I made a parchment and black for him. Got a guitar that needs a paint job?? Send me message and let’s get the ball rolling.
