π· Salary: Starting from Β£12.71βΒ£14.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Wells Plant Hire is a well-established, family-run construction company, and we are looking for a proactive, motivated and organised Administrator to join our friendly office team. This is a varied role, with some crossover into our agricultural business, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a diverse workload and can effectively prioritise tasks. The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a methodical approach to their work, while providing administrative support to our Civils, Commercial and Groundwork teams.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Civils, Commercial and wider Groundworks teams.
β’ Manage company email accounts and provide general office administration, including liaising with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
β’ Prepare and maintain project documentation, including job folders, DigDat enquiries, RAMS, drawing packs and Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals.
β’ Coordinate project logistics, including hotel bookings, welfare unit cleans, plant inspections and survey station calibrations.
β’ Liaise with local councils regarding traffic management, permits and ongoing project requirements.
β’ Support the company's Health & Safety management by organising and minuting meetings, coordinating Health & Safety and Fire Risk audits, maintaining records for fire extinguisher servicing and fire drills, and assisting with the completion of follow-up actions.
β’ Maintain subcontractor insurance records and ensure documentation remains up to date.
β’ Carry out general administrative duties and provide support across all areas of the business as required.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
β’ Previous administration experience, ideally within construction, engineering or a similar industry.
β’ GCSE Grade 4 (or above) or equivalent in English and Maths.
β’ Excellent organisational and time management skills.
β’ Strong attention to detail.
β’ Confident communication skills with customers, suppliers and local authorities.
β’ Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
β’ The ability to prioritise workloads and work both independently and as part of a team.
β’ A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to support the wider business.
