We were recently tasked with a complex installation at an old maritime warehouse in Great Yarmouth. The building's unique structure and the high safety standards required a solution that went above and the ordinary.
The Solution?
A state-of-the-art addressable L1 fire alarm system, featuring aspirating (VESDA) smoke detection for the main warehouse area—providing 'very early warning' protection—alongside traditional detection elsewhere.
The Challenge?
The installation was anything but straightforward! Our team had to navigate the building's complex layout, using a mobile scaffold tower that needed to be repeatedly dismantled and rebuilt between sections just to install the pipework.
Despite the challenges, our multi-skilled engineers designed and installed the entire system to the rigorous BAFE SP203-1 standard. It was then independently commissioned by a BAFE-accredited partner to ensure full compliance and performance—all while adhering to the client’s strict health and safety protocols.
This project is a great example of how we tackle complex problems with smart technology and expert engineering.
