A hillside family retreat designed around a simple but ambitious brief: build one home that can operate as two. Working alongside Cove Bay Developments, whose strategic market insight shaped the operational concept, M_A/D responded with a layered composition of exposed concrete, timber and weathered steel that cascades down a densely forested slope.

A project that sits at residential and hospitality intersections — where the rigour of architecture and place meets the specificity of how people live, gather, and return.

Commissioned as a series of three private houses across the Mediterranean island of Crete, Greece.

Envisaged as distintive and uniquely sculpted residences, the houses re-articulate local residential vernacular while referencing the island’s rich ancient history.

Forming part of an exclusive rental development framework, each house offers a distinct but collective spatial narrative while shaping a curated experience of Mediterranean living—immersive, authentic, and rooted in place.
