The South London Wood Recycling Project (Solo Wood Recycling) is a not-for-profit wood recycling Social Enterprise. We save wood waste from landfill by offering a collection service for the producers of wood waste and reuse or recycle as much of it as possible. Once collected in our truck, the wood is taken back to our yard to sort through what can be sold as timber and what products can be made from it. We deal in...

Projects often come in all shapes and sizes...but when you can turn this, into that!...then you'll always be winning!

Top work here from one of our new regulars, taking old reclaimed victorian joists and reusing them as shelves. Not only a win for the pocket, but something beautiful and unique to furnish the home too.

We think you guys deserve 10 out of 10 on this project, and we're sure we'll see you again for the next one.

So, if anyone is thinking of doing something similar or just has a project in mind, well worth dropping by and checking out what we have.

We are always thrilled to see our customers finished projects, and here we see Charlotte and Co's amazing effort.

Having never done anything like this before, the aim of coming to see us was to find a nice, interesting piece of wood to make a coat hook.

Well, what can we say! Other than these hooks look beautiful with the wood they chose, and no doubt, saved them a fortune while giving themselve a unique piece for their home.

Great result guys, so well done both of you.

If anyone is looking to do something similar or just has a project in mind, well worth a visit to our yard.

**SECURITY BREACH**

Hi all, hope everyone is doing OK in the heat!

It's just another day at Solo, and the problems just keep rolling for us! Had the pleasure of our website being compromised and taken down by hackers!

Just letting you all know we're still open and that watching Pete trying to sort the issues...is like watching a monkey playing with a gun! Haha. Let's hope he'll be OK!

So when is a fence, not really a fence?... when you make it out of pallet wood and do something cool like this!

Thinking outside the box by using reclaimed timber for projects is a win win, not only for your pocket but the planet too!
By reusing timber, we save many trees and habitats, and by using what we've already taken we help to stop more habitats being destroyed!... its also a great way to do your bit for a planet that's burning!

So, if you have a project in mind, well worth dropping by to see what we have. Come down to do your bit, and make something cool! Haha

Got to give a shout out to Rachel and Joel for the amazing work they have done giving these old victorian joists a new lease of life.

Needing a work area and shelving, they drop in to see us for a little advice and inspiration, and boy, what a result they have had.

If you need something similar, well worth dropping by.

So, a massive thumps up to you both, great work, looks absolutely brilliant, well done, and we'll see you for the next project!

As far as first time projects go, we reckon Aamer has smashed it with his one.

Wanting to build a mud kitchen for his little ones, but not done it before, him and his wife came to see us for some Solo inspiration!

A few pallets later...

And wow, what a result he's had, kids are going to love it, and it's given Aamer the confidence to try building other things...we feel we'll be seeing a lot more of him now. Haha

So a massive well done to Aamer and co, we knew you could do it, that's great work and we're sure we'll see you again for your next project.

It shows with a little hard work and imagination, it's all possible with woodwork. If you want something similar, then drop by, and we'll show you round.

We're loving our new habitat walls, which we are making for our new wood bays. We've been wanting to redo the bays for a while, and wanted to do them in a way that would help nature and be more eco friendly.

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do at Solo, and we are hoping that these bays become home to birds and insects, who desperately need support nowadays.

So we'd like to give a big thanks to for giving us the opportunity to get involved in the dismantling of this art installation, and the main gallery, who shall remain anonymous! Our wood bays appreciate your support, and we've put the birch branches to good use for you.

We have some branches left, but they are going fast, we are asking for donations to the mission for them, come grab some before they are all gone.
