Still warm enough to enjoy swimming in newly built natural swimming pool. Completed this September in Hythe, Kent, UK.

Swimming zone measures 16m x 5m, ideal for doing lengths.

Looking forward to seeing the many water plants fill out the shallow margins as the pool establishes itself.

Surrounding the waters edge we planted large swathes of grasses and perennials which will help the pool blend with a wildflower meadow beyond.

A Natural Swimming Pool just completed near Figueres in Catalonia, Spain. Made from the shell of an existing swimming pool with dimensions 12m x 5m x 2m.

A dividing wall was built to separate the biological filtration bed from the swimming zone, and native plant species were planted to benefit local wildlife. An immediate result being the discovery of a grass snake in the pool. This is a non poisonous species that likes to hunt frogs, toads and other small creatures in shallow water margins.

This has been a really succesful swimming pool conversion, and I hope to get more projects like this soon.

The Mallorca house top pond is now completed, it has a waterfall and under gravel filtration and is connected by pipes to the main natural swimming pool. Water circulates between both pools keeping the water crystal clear.

Received these excellent photos from the owner of the Fornalutx pool, Mallorca. I'm pleased to see the new plants have not only survived this summers heatwave but have put on a lot of growth. The new poolside terrace looks great too complete with stylish sun loungers.

Built into a south facing terrace of what was an old olive farm.

It's a beautiful peaceful location overlooking the town.

Shaky video of the Village Pool taken on my recent trip to Portugal. Good to see the water plants have grown well this year and the water is perfectly clear, it's been well maintained by the owner. A number of households in the village are free to swim in the pool and visitors to the garden by permission.
