A Painting Studio & Private Gym Taking Shape 🌿🎨💪
I’m really looking forward to seeing this project completed — a painting studio, creative workspace and private gym tucked away at the end of the garden.
The design is intentionally simple: red brick, red clay tiles and matching red aluminium detailing, set against the deep green of the surrounding planting and the blue sky.
What I love most is the atmosphere — quiet, peaceful and surrounded by nature, with nothing but the sound of birds singing in the garden. A small building, but hopefully a very special place for painting, working, exercising and simply slowing down. 🌿🎨🐦

First sketch of my new RAA studio at the back garden. 🎨🌿

I love the contrast between the lush green garden and the red brick studio. A traditional pitched roof with large south-facing glazing will bring in plenty of natural light and winter sun. ☀️

Just the beginning — excited to see it come to life! ❤️

Eastbourne Airshow 🎨🌊☀️
A beautiful summer day on the Eastbourne seafront, with the beach packed with people enjoying the sunshine and the airshow. I loved the incredible mix of colours — flags, umbrellas, beach towels and all the little details against the beautiful turquoise sea and blue sky.
The atmosphere was amazing, lively and full of energy. I tried to capture not just the view, but the feeling of being there — the crowds, the colours, the sunshine and that wonderful British summer atmosphere.

A wonderful evening in Eastbourne! 🎨

Delicious seafood rice and mussels at Antonio’s Italian restaurant, followed by a quick watercolour sketch of the flamboyant Bohemian — with its beautiful green copper domes and incredible façade details. And yes, even a real peacock! 🦚by the entrance.

Eastbourne is full of architectural surprises. Definitely worth a visit!

Loving these houses, right next to my favourite beach in the world — Lido Beach in Hong Kong.

I was surprised to learn they've been sitting empty for such a long time. I also can't help but feel for the original developer, who reportedly invested around £1 billion and then saw the project lose about 40% of its value.

At the same time, I really admire the courage of the new developer for investing so heavily again—around £800 million—to bring just 13 luxury houses to the market. That's a remarkable commitment.

The views are simply spectacular. Waking up to the sea every day would be incredible.

That said, there's one thing that would stop me from buying here. From a feng shui perspective, I don't think it's an ideal setting. The houses have a highway and bridge directly behind and above them, meaning people travelling on the road can look down into the living rooms and bedrooms. Psychologically, that reduces the sense of privacy and security. There's also the issue of traffic noise.

It's undoubtedly a stunning development with breathtaking sea views, but for me, it's a great view rather than a perfect location.

In this Hong Kong house tour, we visit Grandview Oceania (嘉富海灣), a ...

Some views never lose their magic.

I've painted St Paul's Cathedral and Millennium Bridge many times, but I never get bored of this scene. Every sketch captures a different moment, a different light, a different feeling.

Architecture teaches us to look. Sketching teaches us to see.

A perfect afternoon of walking, observing, and painting one of London's most iconic views. 🎨✨

Urban Fossil

A crushed aluminium can on a pavement—something most people walk past without noticing.

Yet there is something fascinating about it. Once a perfect manufactured object, it has been transformed by pressure, weather, and time into an accidental sculpture. Part industrial product, part urban relic, it sits somewhere between consumption and decay, between the man-made and the natural world.
