WARSAW - DAY 1 🇵🇱

The first day of our Art, Craft, Design & Architecture press trip to Warsaw - and the beginning of three inspiring days exploring the city’s creative scene.

We were delighted to welcome our wonderful guests Anne-Laure Pingreoun from Mayfair Design District, Helen Gonzalez Brown from Disegno Journal and Samta Nadeem from STIR Global - all discovering Warsaw for the very first time.

We started at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw (MSN). A huge thank you to JĂłzefina Bartyzel and the MSN team for such a wonderful introduction and tour of the museum.

From there, we continued to the Gawrońskich Villa for “Polish Modernism. A Struggle for Beauty”, meeting the exhibition’s curators alongside some of the brilliant artists and designers whose work is part of the show.

We ended the day at Rygalik’s gallery, with another inspiring conversation about Polish design and creativity.

So many conversations, discoveries and new creative connections in just one day - and such a pleasure to experience Warsaw through the eyes of people discovering it for the first time.

A huge thank you to everyone who so generously shared their work, ideas and stories with us:

Designers & artists

And a very special thank you to the Polish Cultural Institute Paulina Latham in London and Anna Przyłuska-Kwiatkowska - Warsaw Tourism Office for making this trip possible and helping us discover the people, places and ideas shaping Warsaw’s creative landscape.

More from Warsaw to come - this was only Day 1. ❤️🇵🇱

MEET THE DESIGNER: ZIETA STUDIO

Opening this Wednesday (tomorrow), 9 September, at Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, Curated Connections, Chapter 5: Reflections, part of Mayfair Design District, will present the work of Zieta Studio, alongside Magdalena Zarychta and Aneta Kocia.

Led by architect and process designer Oskar Zięta, Zieta Studio is known internationally for FiDU, its proprietary method of forming steel through internal pressure.

For Reflections, Zieta Studio presents Crystal Totem and Crystal Monoliths, sculptural works from the studio’s ongoing Crystals series. Composed of geometric, mirror-surfaced steel modules, the pieces reflect and refract light and their surroundings, creating shifting, kaleidoscopic impressions that connect directly with the exhibition’s exploration of perception and reflection.

MEET THE DESIGNER: ANETA KOCIA

Opening next week at Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, Curated Connections, Chapter 5: Reflections, part of Mayfair Design District, will present the work of Polish ceramic artist and designer Aneta Kocia, alongside Zieta Studio and Magdalena Zarychta.

Based in Gdańsk and a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, Aneta works with traditional hand-building techniques, exploring the relationship between material, process and form.

Working intuitively, often building her pieces coil by coil, she draws inspiration from erosion, water, wind and geological formations. Her sculptural ceramics sit between vessel and sculpture, function and pure form.

For Reflections, Aneta will present UNDERTOW No. 1 and UNDERTOW No. 4, two unique hand-built works exploring stillness and movement, permanence and transformation. Their layered, organic forms evoke water, erosion and the invisible forces that gradually reshape matter.

Her work has been presented internationally, including at Milan Design Week 2026, as part of Shape of Belonging by Isola.design.

MEET THE DESIGNER: MAGDALENA ZARYCHTA

As we approach Curated Connections, Chapter 5: Reflections, part of Mayfair Design District, we are introducing the designers featured at Mandarin Oriental Mayfair.

Last week, we had the pleasure of meeting Magdalena Zarychta in Warsaw with our British guests during a study visit introducing Polish design and culture, organised in collaboration with the Polish Cultural Institute in London and the Warsaw Tourism Office.

Magdalena is a Polish artist and designer working primarily with glass, alongside ceramics and painting. Her practice explores matter, process, imprint, light and space, with glass at its centre as both a sculptural material and a medium for exploring materiality and experience.

Her work has been presented internationally, including at Paris Design Week, the International Biennale of Glass in Sofia and the Corning Museum of Glass in the USA.

For Reflections, Magdalena joins Zieta Studio and Aneta Kocia in our celebration of contemporary Polish design.
