Carlton & Granville | South Kilburn

Carlton & Granville is a complex regeneration project combining retained structures, refurbishment and new-build construction.

WBD Group provided Structural, Civil and Temporary Works Engineering across the project, working alongside the wider team to coordinate the different stages of the development.

The phased approach allowed parts of the school and wider development to remain in use while construction continued elsewhere. This required careful planning around live and occupied areas, with the permanent, temporary and civil engineering works coordinated throughout each phase.

The project also included façade retention, refurbishment works, basement construction and a distinctive curved architectural roof, bringing together existing and new structures within a complex site.

65 Fleet Street | City of London

WBD Group is proud to support the redevelopment of 65 Fleet Street, which will deliver purpose-built student accommodation alongside new cultural spaces, enhanced public realm and the restoration of important historic features.

The scheme also includes the restoration of The Tipperary, the Grade II-listed pub recognized as London's oldest Irish pub and an important part of Fleet Street's heritage.

Working with HG Construction, WBD Group is providing specialist Temporary Works and Structural Design services as part of the redevelopment.

Working within this sensitive heritage setting, our engineering input supports the safe and practical delivery of the wider development while helping protect important historic features.

South Quay Plaza | Canary Wharf

Since 2016, WBD Group's Structural Engineering and Temporary Works teams have proudly supported the delivery of South Quay Plaza.

We're delighted to see South Quay Plaza 1 and South Quay Plaza 4 now complete, delivering over 800 new homes, high-quality public spaces and a revitalised waterfront in Canary Wharf.

Our involvement continues with South Quay Plaza 2, allowing us to support the wider development as it progresses.

We're proud to have been part of this project for many years and look forward to continuing our contribution to South Quay Plaza.

Manchester Town Hall | Albert Square, Manchester

Manchester Town Hall is one of the UK's most iconic civic buildings and a remarkable example of Neo-Gothic architecture. Originally completed in 1877, the Grade I listed landmark is currently undergoing a major restoration programme to preserve it for future generations.

Originally valued at £328.3 million and now progressing at £524 million, the project reflects the scale and complexity of restoring such an important historic building.

WBD Group was proud to provide Temporary Works Design, delivering practical engineering solutions that supported the safe refurbishment of this protected structure while preserving its historic character.

With completion anticipated in 2027, we're proud to have contributed to the restoration of one of Manchester's most significant landmarks.
