External Waterproofing

A nice sequencing picture around this lift pit where we are installing the DualProof external waterproofing system.

The membrane and rebar are in place waiting for the inner shuttering to be slotted in from above.

The lift pit walls will be poured as part of the basement slab structure following the installation of our membrane

Using an external system reduces the risk that the lift company will drill through the waterproofing.

Wow what a busy week!

In 5 super hectic days our friendly site teams have made great progress.

1 - Waterproofed the curviest vault in the City of London using Koster NB1 and the sparkling Koster Restoration Plaster White - the pictures don't do this one justice

2- Cavity Drainage Waterproofing started and completed in Hoxton- using Delta Membrane

3- Heavy Duty damp proof upstands in Brighton specced by Visqueen.

4- Another Cavity Drainage system - this time in Wimbledon - started and finished this week.

Big thank you to all our suppliers for getting materials to site on time as well as our site teams for working hard.

Cavity Drainage - Wine Cellar interface

Here one of our site teams have been busy installing another cavity membrane system.

The lucky owners of this property will soon get to enjoy not only a spacious basement but also a high specification wine cellar.

Special care is required to terminate the membrane system at the wine cellar threshold.

Basement Membrane Installation from Delta Membrane Systems Ltd

Our friendly site team have put the finishing touches to the waterproofing on this west London residential basement extension.

We used two type of wall membrane here, Delta MS500 is generally used due to the high drainage capacity.

We also worked with the design team to reduce the build up in the areas next to the stairs where Delta PT 3mm was used. The meshed surface allows for boards to be applied by dot and dab, minimising the wall thickness.

Basement Waterproofing SW6

Our teams are on site, bright and early installing a Delta Membrane Systems Ltd cavity membrane system to this basement extension in Fulham

This is one of those roads where it seems every house is having a spacious new basement built -- at the same time!

It's a real jungle of vans, skips, dig out conveyors and builders merchants deliveries and parking wardens...It will be worth it in the end.

A typical basement extension adds around 150m2 of dry usable living space to these terraced houses. Effectively doubling the size of the house.

Service Pe*******on Waterproofing.

Our hard working site teams have been busy again waterproofing these service penetrations.

This was quite a complicated project where the high voltage cables were already in place. Lots of hard work was required to get the cables spaced before the waterproofing could take place.

Basement Waterproofing.

Work in progress from a Delta Membranes project. Delta MS500 is being installed to the walls of this basement. Delta Channels are recessed into a rebate in the slab and connected to a sump chamber.

Once the drainage is tested we will install the Dleta MS20 floor membrane and issue our insurance backed guarantees.

The upturned bucket isn't a critical element to the process, is this part of a Marcelo Bielsa inspired seating craze?

External Waterproofing - New Build Residential.

Some work in progress pictures from a recent DualProof installation project. A small but complicated design.

External waterproofing was by the DualProof membrane from Delta Membrane Systems Ltd. A system we love as it's really robust and easy to install.

Here we also had to consider:

The pile caps - these were sealed using a Koster repair mortar "Doughnut" and NB1 tanking slurry.

Service Pe*******ons- sealed using site made DualProof collars and puddle flanges.

Recessed-deep piles - a combination of the above and some complex membrane origami.

Works to progress will include waterproofing the retaining walls and the footings of the adjacent building.

All installed with our guarantee and design covered by our PI.

Resin Injection. Leaking Concrete.

Unfortunately, concrete structures sometimes leak. Defects in construction caused by:

Inadequate vibration and placement of concrete.
Poor placement of waterbars.
Cracking.
Addition of extra water during the pour and placement of the concrete.

Our site surveyors and injection team are on hand to recommend the most effective techniques for leaking concrete structures.
