Throwback to a combined fencing installation and gate automation project at a local Synagogue we completed 5 years ago.

We recently caught up with the client to discuss another project, and they were kind enough to leave us some feedback on Google:

Lee Valley Regional Park got back in touch recently to help sort out the entrance to one of their campsites. Having looked after their sites for years, they knew we would get down there, survey the setup, and get a solid solution in place.

The old setup relied on manual timber gates behind a barrier. Opening and shutting them by hand every day was taking up valuable staff time, and because they often got left open, anyone could wander in.

We cleared out the old timber setup and installed a robust automated vehicle gate alongside a matching pedestrian gate. Both are tied into a new Paxton access control system. Campers use a unique 4 digit code to get in, while an underground exit loop and push button handle quick, easy exits.

Under the hood, we powered the main gate with BFT A50 operators, secured it with a 500kg mag lock, and fitted a Locinox Mammoth closer to the pedestrian gate so it latches shut every single time. A*O 45mm safety edges keep the whole system fully safe and compliant.

A solid upgrade to the site that will keep things running smoothly right through the busy summer season.

When the team at St Michael’s Church Highgate told us they needed a new car park barrier, high on their requests was avoiding the standard red or orange housings. The already established perimeter railings were black, and they didn’t want the new barrier sticking out like a sore thumb.

Another FAAC Entrance Solutions UK B680 barrier installed for Chase New Homes at their new development in Cockfosters.

A simple and reliable setup, with access via radio remotes or a 4-digit keypad on entry, and a free-exit sensor for vehicles leaving the site.

For safety, we’ve installed an Evoloop sensor, which can detect vehicles through the barrier skirt, something a standard photocell cannot do. This provides both vehicle protection and free-exit functionality in one solution.

This is the second barrier we’ve installed for this development, and hopefully the second of many more to come.

Installed by our engineer Matt, who has fitted more than 20 B680 barriers over the last two years.

Spot the difference time. We will let you guess which one is the old part and which is the new one. Hint: the shiny one on the right didn’t spend the last decade fighting the British weather.

These are cantilever gate wheels. The bearings in the old set had started to collapse after years of constant use, which puts a massive strain on the motor and the gate itself.

A straightforward swap by the team and this system is gliding smoothly again. Catching worn components in time is the best way to prevent unexpected breakdowns, keeping your entrance secure and operating safely.
