⚠️ THINK ALL GRP FIBREGLASS ROOFS ARE THE SAME? THINK AGAIN…

Today we carried out a drone roof inspection on two GRP fibreglass flat roofs that were only four years old.

Both roofs were suffering from severe ponding, with large areas of standing water that had been left sitting on the surface for long periods.

Because the roofs hadn’t been installed correctly, the standing water had caused the GRP topcoat to deteriorate prematurely, reducing the roof’s protection against UV and weathering.

A properly installed GRP roof should have the correct falls, allowing rainwater to drain efficiently, and should be reinforced correctly at all joints and details. When installed to the manufacturer’s specification, a GRP roof is one of the strongest and longest-lasting flat roofing systems available.
