No heat, no circulation, and a faulty central heating pump. Quick swap and the system was back up and running. 🔥

I’ve had a few comments saying an angled flue adaptor affects analyser readings…

These tests were taken minutes apart using the same analyser. One directly in the flue, one through the angled adaptor.

The readings are virtually identical.

In my experience, any small variation is more likely down to analyser tolerances than the adaptor itself.

What’s everyone else’s experience with angled adaptors? 👇

One of those simple tools that saves time and frustration when fitting basin wastes. I’ve used plenty of different methods over the years, but this has quickly become a regular in the toolbox.

Summer is the perfect time to find heating issues before winter.

What’s everyone using these days?

I’ve got a Fluxator and like the applicator, but I’m not a huge fan of the flux it comes with. I keep coming back to these little plastic flux brushes! cheap, simple, don’t snap, and get the job done.

Fluxator or flux brush? 👇

Just started using these Basin Mate kits from Thomas Dudley Plumbing and I’m impressed so far. No silicone, a lot less mess, and a quick tidy install. Interested to see how they hold up long term, but first impressions are good.

What’s everyone else using for basin wastes these days? Still silicone, plumber’s mait, or something different?

These things make gas jobs easier.

An angled flue adaptor for awkward tests, a spare analyser probe, a gas meter box key that stays on my keyring, and Easy Pull for Anton Sprint. Thanks Boilertools.co.uk
