Instruction complete working alongside KPM Construction Ltd to carry out a shell and core in Chinatown, which lead onto instruction to produce a schedule condition and matterport survey.

Building works consisted of:
- strip out previous tenants shop fit out incl extraction.
- new shopfronts.
- basement tanking.
- various alterations.
- supply upgrade.
- temporary services.
- fire compartmentation.

Our next instruction is to complete the role of FDPM for an incoming tenants licence to alter.

Externals repair and redecorations including reroofing complete at 42 Monmouth Street for Shaftesbury Capital PLC carried out by Roots Contractors Ltd.

Refurbishment works complete for Planet Organic in Islington, carried out by Forward Contracting (UK) Ltd.

Our role provided cost consultancy and project management services for upgrades/reconfiguration works to the retail trading area.

Keys issues were to tie in various client contractors to carry out the following works:

~ Replacement of the air conditioning installation/retail unit chiller / refrigeration units and alterations to the existing walk in back of house cold room.
~ Upgrading of data, and cctv installation.
~ Upgrading of display systems, together with incorporating new branding imagery, service points, and Food To Go counter.
~ Replacement of the store’s entrance doors to facilitate new chillers installation and weekend crane lift for external plant replacement to main roof.

A good team effort by all parties to progress the store re-fit within both budget parameters and a tight timescale.

After 36 years of being at F&T, Neil will be taking on a part time role (three days a week) within the organisation from the end of March. This will form the first step to winding down before eventually going into full retirement, with greater focus on his family and grand plans of travelling the world.

Neil joined in 1990 as a graduate building surveyor, working hard to get Chartered and then make his way up the ranks, becoming a Director in 1998.
Neil is highly valued and respected, whilst also bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the business over the years.

Thank you for everything you have done for the company, and we look forward to hearing the stories of your travels

Congratulations to Becky Robertson of our team in becoming a member of the Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors and a Freeman of the City of London.

Firstly, she had to swear an oath to the company (Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors). She then had a formal ceremony where she got admitted to the freedom of the City of London at the Guildhall on Tuesday where she had to read the oath in front of the Clerk. The oath is on the attached photo behind Barbara the sheep, although Becky I had to swear it to the King now instead of the Queen.

Collaborating with RICS Matrics UK, London & Southeast, last night F&T hosted the first evening social run of 2026 from our offices in Lincoln’s Inn Fields, Holborn.

This group of young professionals took a scenic 3.5mi/5.6km running route around some of London’s best landmarks, Trafalgar Square, The Mall, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, then back along river passed the London Eye.

An enjoyable run, finishing back at our offices for refreshments and networking. Thank you to everyone who participated, it was lovely to meet everyone.

PPM (Planned preventative maintenance) schedule complete in Bloomsbury for The Horse Hospital who are the leaseholds of the whole building. Whilst working in conjunction with who provided the drone survey footage.

Our role was to survey the entire address and produce a 10 year costed PPM of all external fabric, external hard standings, roof coverings/structure, internal layout/structure and all associated M&E.

Repair and maintenance works found were prioritised based on condition; and costings phased over a 10 year maintenance programme.
