What’s everyone’s thoughts on branded bell box covers? Should we include a contact number, or is the company logo enough?
I’ve been thinking about this recently.
The larger security companies generally don’t seem to put a telephone number on their bell boxes — usually it’s just their branding.
But I started asking myself:
📞 Have we ever had an enquiry from someone simply because they saw one of our sirens?
No.
🚨 Have we ever had a neighbour call us because an alarm was sounding and they wanted to let us know?
Yes.
So, does having the number on there actually generate business, or is the logo/brand recognition more important?
If the bell box is mounted high up, how useful is a phone number anyway? Can someone realistically read it, remember it and take it down?
Or is the better approach simply to have a strong, recognisable logo that someone can Google when they want to find out who installed the system?
Personally, I’m leaning towards strong branding over cramming too much information onto the bell box — but I’d love to hear what other installers and customers think.
