We are still recruiting Seasonal Surveyors to assist with bat emergence surveys during the upcoming season.
📍 Locations:
Opportunities are available across the Midlands and the South of England (Bedfordshire, Central and Greater London, Surrey, Kent, Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Hertfordshire)
🕒 Role Overview:
You will support licensed ecologists with dusk bat emergence surveys, collecting high-quality field data in line with current best practice.
⏰ Working Pattern:
• Evenings and late nights weekdays
• Occasional weekend evenings
💷 Rate of Pay:
• £75–£150 per survey (experience dependent)
• Plus mileage
✅ Essential Requirements:
• An interest in bats and ecological fieldwork
• Ability to work evenings, late nights, and occasional weekends
• Full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle
(not required for candidates based in central London)
• Reliable, enthusiastic, and comfortable working outdoors
🦇 Bat License:
Please state if you currently hold a bat survey license and, if so, the level of license held.
🌿 What We Offer:
• Valuable hands-on experience in bat surveying
• Flexible, seasonal employment- Surveys will be offered on an ad hoc basis, and applicants may choose whether or not to accept each available shift.
• Opportunity to work alongside experienced ecologists
