Colleagues from our Ollerton Plant Depot were out in support of their local community last week, as they joined Forestry England rangers in their work caring for Ollerton Pit Woods.

Our team’s task was to open ditches clogged by small tree growth, allowing the free and controlled flow of water across the site.

By the end of the day nearly a kilometre of key ditches was successfully cleared, ready for the rainy Autumn season ahead!

🏉 Grand Slam winners in the making?

Last week, Newbridge Rugby Club hosted a successful summer camp for children, facilitated by club staff and volunteers.

For 30 years, the club has been a cornerstone of the Newbridge community, providing an inclusive environment where young people can develop skills, confidence, teamwork, and resilience both on and off the pitch.

We're proud to see our relationship with the club continue to go from strength to strength and to support an organisation that has such a positive impact on the local community.

Well done to all those involved in delivering another fantastic week, and to everyone who has helped make Newbridge Rugby Club what it is today 🏉.

Our team is making strong progress on the Berth 30/31 project, a key infrastructure development being delivered under the Dublin Port Framework in partnership with Dublin Port Company.

Operating within one of the busiest ports in the country presents unique challenges, and our teams are delivering these works in a live operational environment while ensuring port activities continue uninterrupted.

Recently a key milestone for the project was achieved with the early handover of a section of quayside apron to the Client to enable the delivery and assembly of a new Ship To Shore gantry crane.

Throughout the quay wall construction, certain works such as deep drainage, tie-rods, precast facia panels and deep cope beam pours were governed entirely by the tides. With installation only possible during the lowest tides, the team often had just a two-hour window each tidal cycle to carry out these critical activities.

The result was a year of early starts, late finishes, meticulous planning and outstanding teamwork. The successful delivery of these works reflect the dedication, resilience and professionalism of everyone involved. Well done to all.

Upcoming works include the continued construction of heavy-duty concrete pavement slabs, electrical fit-out and commissioning of the new MV substation, installation of quay furniture and terminal lighting.

A huge thank you to all the Dublin Port team as we progress this important project to completion and help shape the future of Ireland's busiest port.

⚡Powering Progress in Cork⚡

Murphy has successfully completed the 110kV Knockraha to Lysagtown re-conductoring project for ESB Networks near Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork.

This challenging project involved replacing 17 spans of 110kV 200 ACSR conductor, including three road crossings and two overhead line crossings (10kV and 38kV).

Murphy completed all works in-house, including the stringing of the high-voltage conductor, which was carried out by the Overhead Line team for the first time on the ESB framework following Murphy's direct delivery model.

The works were completed ahead of schedule, with the line handed back before the end of the outage. This project showcases the skills and expertise of the OHL team in delivering complex infrastructure safely, efficiently, and within a highly regulated environment.

Well done to everyone involved!

👏 Cross-team collaboration was at the heart of the recent successful delivery of our Derrykillultagh Boiler Upgrade for Gas Networks Ireland.

Murphy was contracted to deliver the boiler replacement project associated with the 75/7 bar gas transmission system in Northern Ireland. To ensure uninterrupted operations throughout the works, a temporary boiler system was installed, allowing the existing boilers to be safely removed and replaced with new units.

Our Northern Ireland Operations & Maintenance (NIO&M) team successfully degassed and decommissioned the existing boiler system, creating the foundation for the upgrade works. Colleagues from our NSWC and Pipe Fabrication teams then removed the existing pipework and carried out the fabrication, testing, inspection, coating, and installation of new fuel gas and vent relief pipework.

Our Electrical Services team completed the electrical installation, testing, and commissioning support for the new boiler system. They also delivered a new solar PV installation at the AGI, further supporting Gas Networks Ireland's commitment to reducing carbon emissions and improving sustainability.

Once the upgrade works were complete, the AGI was safely handed back to our NIO&M team, who successfully commissioned the new system while ensuring continuity of gas flow throughout the project.

This project is a great example of Murphy teams working together to deliver complex infrastructure projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Well done to everyone involved.

Our people make successes like this possible. Join the Murphy team and help shape the future of infrastructure. See:

As with everything we do at Murphy, we are committed to leaving a positive legacy in all the communities in which we work.

We visited father and son team, Antony Carr Snr and Jnr, to hear more about the 3.7km of electrical upgrade works we are undertaking in Surrey.

We're working closely with Surrey County Council and the local community, to ensure the minimum of disruption whilst undertaking these works in West Byfleet. Thank you to the residents for their patience during the roadworks.
