One of our completed Green Belt Essex houses that overlooks the beautiful and vast Epping Forest!

Not all outdoor spaces need to be big; they just need to be considered part of ‘living’ in a home. The consideration of morning sunshine and the ability to have a morning coffee (made with the main suite Qooker Tap) before the kids take over! It was also an opportunity to make the most of the beautiful vista to unwind in after a day’s work in the home office adjacent.

The ‘not so boring box’ has been recognised at SBID International Awards for 2026 and we are over the moon! It had a complex planning journey, as distinctive design can often meet resistance at local level. The Edwardian house had a full transformation where we honoured its period character while crafting a refined, contemporary family home. With Daniela’s vision on the interior specifications and design, the scheme was elevated into something incredibly special, which of course would not be possible without our incredible build team Mason (London) Construction! Our clients love every second of living there, its beyond their expectation and that is lovely.

To complete the final stage of judging, the public are invited to vote for their favourite finalist designs - accounting for 10% of the overall results. Inside the completed ‘not so boring’ box extension housing the kitchen/dining/reading spaces! The old and new interior blending with that all important connection to the garden, a connection that was ‘cut’ off in the original house design. Light flooding in and ease of living, clients happy = architects happy!

Transitional detailing – where two spaces can be joined as one or be separated. One of our recently completed projects has just that, with the spaces separated by bespoke bi-folding joinery doors that fold into their own niche. A classical detail refined by us on this full-house extension and refurbishment project, where flexible use of the spaces was required.

The ‘not so boring box’ is finally finished. Step inside, and the concept of richness and retreat is certainly captured in the family bathroom, where the walls have a deep-colour limewash and a marble composition. The marble continues around the vintage walnut vanity units’ period shape, a sumptuous detail.

A few months have flown by since our latest update on The Gables.

Today we share the walk across the lower, ground and first floors. As spaces form, you can really start to feel the connection to the grounds and the different views captured within our design.

We are looking for Part II Architectural Assistants to join the team.

Based on the East London/Essex borders our studio is accessible via the Central Line, approx. 25-minute drive from Walthamstow/Leyton and within a short walk to Epping Forest.

We work on carefully considered high end residential projects in unique and often, challenging settings — combining thoughtful sustainable design and planning expertise with a strong focus, that our designs can be delivered on site.

The process of bringing that design to life through coordination, detail, and care — defines what we do.

A sunny visit to Third House which is on the home straight to becoming a simply stunning upgrade
in a beautiful countryside location. Set within a conservation area, it already had good architectural
heritage, having been architect designed in the 60’s. Our proposed, small but proportional
extension (just popping up behind the chimney) allowed the internal configuration to work so much
better. The fabric upgrade formed the second part of our design concepts, with the third element
being the new home studio setting within the original walled garden where the swimming pool once
occupied.
