A conversation with H.E. Dr. Khalfan bin Said Al Shueili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, on what makes a city worth living in.

What stayed with me was the idea that housing isn’t only about buildings. It’s about belonging. A home shapes how a family grows, how a neighbourhood connects and how a city remembers the people who built it. Planning for Oman’s future means designing with that in mind, for the climate we live in, the resources we have and the generations still to come.

Conversations like this remind me that the best cities aren’t built for people. They’re built with them.
