This path runs right past a playground on a busy estate, but the beds either side had been left to grow wild, high grass, weeds and a big overgrown ivy mound eating into the walkway. We cleared it all back, cutting the growth down and clearing the beds right back to the hardstanding, so the path and the green space around it are properly usable again.

Another full garden makeover finished by the Garden Care team, and the difference speaks for itself.

This Surrey garden went from overgrown grass and a neglected corner to a striped lawn, freshly planted borders and a new shed. It's a great example of what's possible when a garden gets a complete overhaul rather than a quick tidy-up.

This birch tree had grown right out over the fence line and down towards the pavement and cycle bay below, brushing bikes and blocking light to the roses growing underneath. We gave it a proper crown lift, taking the lower growth back and tidying the overall shape, so there's clear headroom over the footpath again and the tree looks far healthier for it.

This month's Plant of the Month is Hibiscus syriacus, also known as Rose of Sharon or Korean Rose, and South Korea's national flower.

Did you know each flower only lasts a day, but new buds keep coming on fresh growth, so the display never stops.

This garden had a decent brick wall already, but a tired old shrub bed eating into the lawn on one side. We added new timber fence panels on top of the wall for extra height, cleared the overgrown bed out completely and laid fresh turf in its place.

Simple job, but it's made a real difference to how private and usable the space feels.

This one was properly overgrown. Grass up past your knees, an old rusty pole buried in it, weeds pushing through the driveway paving out front. The kind of garden you'd rather not go out into.

We cleared the whole thing back, cut the grass right down, tidied up the borders and gravelled the side access path with brick edging. Then we laid a brand new sandstone patio out the back, so there's finally somewhere proper to sit.

A recent UK survey by Zoopla found 47% of buyers have been put off a property, or asked for a lower price, because of an overgrown or neglected garden. You don't need to be selling up to feel that though, a garden like this one just isn't much fun to use as it was.

Bare patches, bald grass, a corner that was more mud than lawn. Now look at it.

We got stuck into this Surrey garden with fresh turf, new sleeper borders and some proper uplighting, and honestly it's transformed the whole space. It's the kind of garden you actually want to sit out in of an evening now.

Fun fact: RICS research says a well-kept, landscaped garden can add up to 20% to a property's value. So this isn't just a nicer view out the kitchen window, it's a decent investment too.

What we got up to: Stripped the tired old grass right back, levelled everything out, and laid new turf edge to edge. Sleepers now run along both fences to frame the beds and stop soil spilling onto the lawn. Then we added LED lights along the borders and up into the birch tree, so it looks just as good after dark.

Garden Care Group's team cleared the site, prepared new beds, laid stone edging and steps, and planted a mix of ornamental shrubs and grasses, finished with mulch and a new bench for passers-by.
