A job I completed in April.

Full Garden Renovation designed by leafmarkgardendesign which has gone from a bare grassy garden to a useable garden with a decent sized lawn, 50m2 Indian sandstone patio with built in BBQ area aswell as the surrounding flower bed.

- Excavated the back patio area down by 200mm
- Removing all of the turf
- Installing a solid concrete base with reinforced mesh for the BBQ area and building in Solid concrete blocks
- Install new fencing along the left side and back - Supplied by Ash Fencing Supplies
- Installation of primary type 1 subase then Kandla Grey Indian sandstone on a 50mm sharp sand and cement bedding.
- 75mm tall steel border installed for the lawn with 600 x 600mm indian sandstone stepping stones installed.

A nice little day, squeezing 2 jobs in.

First job was a block paving reinstatement after someone altered some drainage and left the blockwork all open.

- We excavated the loose and dug out any soft areas
- Installed a non woven geotextile membrane for a 150mm subase of type one, spread levelled and compacted.
- Screeded a 40mm sharp sand bed
- Then laid the existing block pavers and compacted to seal

The second Job was a trench dig out and duct work for new EV charging point.

- Excavated a trench 700mm deep at 5m long.
- Lay down a 50mm sharp sand bed then 50mm electric duct
- Surround the ducting with sharp sand
- Lay electical warning tape
- Back filled in Layers

A little block paving reinstatement job taken care of today. Where the existing block paving had subsided and sunk.

We lifted up the Onld pavers and put to the side, cleaning off each block. Broke out the old bed for the bordering blocks. Concrete the border blocks back in to a line. Then screed a new sharp sand bed and lay the existing blocks back into position then compact.

Aswell, we removed the blocks around a gulley to remove the gulley and then rodded the drain run to unblock it. After the blockage was taken care of we Reinstated the ground back to its original state.

A little repair job taken care of. After the postmans bag had knocked into the brick pillar taking it off among a few camping stones.

- Stripped back the loose bricks and cleaning them off
- Install existing bricks
- Install existing coping
- Install a new Pillar cap and painting with white masonry paint

A great project worked on within the Bexley area for yet another brilliant customer.

A tired old front garden, needing a renovation to freshen up and give it the brightness it needed.

- Excavating down by 180mm all over
- Installing a border of edgings on one side to demarcate the flower bed.
- Installing a 100mm thick subase layer of primary type 1 aggregate, spread, levelled and compacted in two layers on top of a layer of non woven geotextile membrane.
- On one side installing 450x450 dark grey castlepave concrete Riven slabs on a 40mm sharp sand and cement mortar bed (5:1).
- On the other side an additional layer of non woven geotextile membrane across the type 1 subase to seperate the type 1 from the 60mm layer of black ice chippings which we spread on top.
- Final clear and tidy from site.

Our latest completed Project

Our wonderful clients had built this beautiful timber gazebo prior to us starting the work and felt it was needing a hard standing patio area to really be able to use the space.

- We excavated 210mm down within the area by hand and removed all waste and brought in all materials via gorilla bucket as access was poor.
- Set in Damson Cobbles in concrete (5:1) and backed up as a retaining border due to the patio being raised higher than the existing ground level.
- Installation of a non woven geotextile membrane
- Spread, levelled and compacted 150mm Primary Type 1 aggregate in 2 layers for subase
- Followed by installing Kandla Grey Porcelain 600x900mm tiles on a 40mm sharp sand and cement mortar bed (5:1). Each tile having a cement slurry primer brushed onto the back to enhance the bind to the bed.
- Grouted with an external Porcelain grout in Dove Grey
- A final clear and tidy with the last bit of touching up.

We really enjoyed working on this job. Especially when we were topped up with ice lollies, teas, biscuits and cookies. We were very looked after.

Another Driveway Completed!

The Original gravel drive had lacked in in the fundamental foundations. With minimal membrane and a maximum of 70mm thick subase, allowing weeds to flood through and sinking and dips to appear with the weight of parked vehicles.

Therefore we -

- Lifted up the existing slabs for reinstating
- Excavated down by 210mm across the entire area
- Installed a layer of non woven geotextile membrane
- Followed by a 150mm layer of type 1 aggregate, spread, levelled and compacted in 2 layers.
- Reinstatement of the existing slabs
- New concrete haunching along the neighbouring border.
- Installation of a second layer of non woven geotextile membrane.
- Installation of 40mm deep driveway gravel grids
- Installation of 60mm layer of 20mm Dove Grey Chippings
- Rake out and Repointing of Granite setts

A nice little 2.5 day job completed.

The overcrowded flower bed was in need of attention. With the old wall crack through root expansion and the ever growing Conifer trees taking up the majority of the room.

The Client had asked the the Conifer removal, and to reinstate the wall with a Blue engineering brick aswell as giving the spoil the right nutrients for the palm to thrive.

So we did just that!

- Cut down and remove the Conifers, including the stumps.
- Excavate 250mm down from the lowest point of the footpath 400mm wide for a footing structure.
- Concrete the footing 100x400x4100mm with Ballast and cement (4:1)
- Build the brick wall in 9" thickness with Class B, Blue engineering bricks
- Infill the flower bed with Pete Free Compost, Manure and Sharp sand which was mixed and blended.

Another Happy Customer which we will also be returning to in September to Pave the pathway with indian Sandstone.

Another Job completed.

A 45m2 Driveway which once was a unused grassy area which is now transformed to a functional 2 car driveway.

These wonderful clients are completely over the moon with the final result.

- Excavation of the area 250mm down with a 1.7t Excavator
- Installation of a new drainage run for aco channels, into an existing soakaway
- Geotextile Membrane laid across the entire area,
- Aco channels and Specifically asked for Dark Grey Edgings installed
- Installation of 150mm Primary Type 1 aggregate subase
- 30/40mm Sharp sand bed Screeded to level
- Installation of Mixed size Monkbridge Cinder blocks with a light grey 200x100mm Border
- Installation of a new step made up of 3 size block paved kerb.

Another job completed!

This garden had been untouched for years, overgrown, gloomy and small but with the transformation that was carried out, we have opened the space up making it look twice as big, brightening up the area with light, natural coloured slabs.

This once unusable space is now a safe haven for the client to come to at any point in the day.

All dig out was by hand as there was no access for machinery and there was an unbelievably long walk to the skip.

But we made it!!

- Reduce dig of up to 500mm down at the lowest point.
- Soakaway installation for new aco channel run
- Non woven geotextile membrane and 100mm thick type one subase install
- Concrete strip footing and build of retaining wall made of Middleton Blend Sevenoaks Classic facing bricks
- Aco channel install
- Lay Patio with 600x600mm Natural Riven concrete paving slabs on 50mm sharp sand and cement mix (5:1) with Kiln dried sand swept into the joints
- Final clear and tidy

The wonderful client is over the moon with the completed project and is now looking for us to quote for the top tiered section with fresh turf and stepping stones.
