Timbawood Specialists in restoration, replacement and part replacement of bespoke timber windows and doors for listed, conservation and period properties

A project nearing completion in Putney, and what a result.

This conservation range sash window features a 12-panes-over-two-panes configuration with a white spacer bar, designed with a shorter height and wider glass to match the original look of the property. While not a standard layout, every detail has been considered to ensure it sits authentically within the character of the home.

Bronze lifts, a bronze fastener, and square sash pulleys on both the inside and outside complete the hardware, tying everything together with the traditional aesthetic throughout.

Great to have architects visit us today for a CPD factory tour with our MD Ian Selby, for a behind the scenes look at the detail that goes into making authentic timber windows and doors.

We always get positive feedback for providing such an interactive factory tour, where architects get to see every stage of the process inside a busy joinery workshop, including seeing our skilled joiners in action, handling different timber and glass samples, and watching as our windows and doors are painted and glazed in real time.

Get in touch if you'd like your architecture practice to visit us for a factory tour!

For this project, the existing door needed to be made taller to suit new site requirements, without losing the character of the original.

We replicated the original bevelled details, double ovolo mouldings and dimensions, creating an almost identical replacement with just one key difference: a little more height.

Bespoke joinery, made to match. If you have a building requiring expert window or door work, get in touch with the Timbawood team online or visit our showroom.

This is what aftercare looks like ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

When this customer reported a misalignment issue with their front door, our team were out the very next day. Rob not only resolved the problem and ensured the door was functioning perfectly before he left, but also identified the root cause: structural movement at the front corner of the house caused by a down pipe discharging underneath.

We are proud to stand behind every product we install, long after the job is done.

Small details make a big difference.

When it comes to period properties, window proportions matter. Our traditionally narrow English sightlines are designed to replicate the finer proportions of original timber windows, rather than the heavier appearance of many off-the-shelf systems.

For homes in conservation areas or listed buildings, getting these details right can make all the difference to preserving the character of the property.

Precision matters. Get in touch with the Timbawood team online or visit our showroom.

Traditional looks with modern performance.

This unusually high loft space called for a carefully considered window design, using our 4-8-4 Conservation Range to create a traditional English joinery look while maximising light and views.

Slim profiles, sharp mouldings and chunky timber sections are paired with monkeytail handles and a modern multi-point locking system, combining heritage detailing with contemporary security.

The character of traditional joinery, with performance built in. Visit our showroom to see our range of doors and windows.

It's all a part of the interior.

There's something special about seeing a Timbawood window go from the factory to a finished, lived-in home and become part of the space.

From hardware that complements the surrounding cabinetry to traditional pulleys, quadrant stays and beautifully styled lifts, everything has been considered.

Windows don't just frame a view. They shape how light enters a room and play a huge role in the feel of a space.
