East Village London

East Village London East Village is a brand new neighbourhood for London. Fast forward to 2011, and the first of 3000 trees were planted at East Village.

Back in 2008, construction work first started on East Village, and a year later, Triathlon Homes entered into a purchase agreement to buy the 1,379 affordable homes. That year also saw the arrival of East Village's first resident: a rare Black Redstart, and construction immediately halted until the bird finished nesting. The additional 1,439 homes on East Village were sold to QDD in 2011, and in S

eptember of that year, Westfield, Stratford City opened, along with the Stratford DLR and finally, the surrounding wetlands were filled with 7.5 million litres water. In early 2012 construction of East Village was finished, and over the summer it played host to the world’s finest athletes. In September, the final stages of completion began. Now East Village is open, and residents have started to move in.
