Fulham Basement Extension

A striking feature of this project in St Dunstans Road is the glazed stair enclosure linking the basement with the ground floor above. While the stair itself is deliberately simple, its setting within a glass cube creates a dramatic architectural feature and allows natural light to flow between levels.

As with all our projects, the design was carefully explored through drawings and 3D modelling to create a light-filled contemporary home.

Huntsworth Mews, Westminster

This mews refurbishment and extension project has transformed the property through the addition of a new storey and the conversion of the existing garage into habitable accommodation.

The result is a light-filled contemporary interior with significantly improved space, including a large kitchen and reception area alongside two additional bedrooms. Rooflights and structural glazing play an important role in bringing natural light deep into the plan.

Fulham Basement Extension

Set within Fulham’s ‘Alphabet Streets’, this project transforms a prominent corner property through the addition of a basement extension, side extension, pod room and loft conversion.

A key feature of the scheme is the staircase linking the ground floor with the basement below, positioned beneath a large rooflight to bring daylight deep into the centre of the home. Lightwells, double-height spaces and structural glazing ensure the lower ground floor feels bright, open and fully connected to the rest of the house.

Fulham Extension

Shape Architecture has completed a rear extension and internal refurbishment project at Doneraile Street in Fulham. The project sees an existing dilapidated structure removed and a new elegant extension constructed in its place. Much effort was put into designing a series of rooflights to ensure the interior was flooded with daylight. Computer models helped in this regard, both in designing and communicating clearly with our clients.
