A quiet presence from the street. A growing sense of drama within.

For this new family home in Totteridge, North London, we replaced an outdated 1970s house with contemporary architecture shaped by its gently sloping site.

Set into the landscape, the house reveals itself as you enter. Tiered planting gives the main living room a south-facing aspect while screening views of the road and driveway. Mature trees soften the entrance and provide seasonal shade.

Long-format natural brick and dark-stained timber bring warmth and texture to the precise geometry, while carefully angled brickwork catches the changing light.
