Hambro Roofing recently completed an impressive specialist roofing package at the new Cambridge South railway station, delivering a combination of Bauder green, blue and brown roofing systems as part of this landmark infrastructure project.

The station's striking architectural design incorporates an unusually shaped and highly distinctive roof profile, creating a bold and iconic structure that is set to become a defining feature of the area for generations to come. The complex geometry and varying roof profiles presented significant challenges, requiring meticulous planning, specialist installation techniques and close coordination with the wider construction team to achieve the required standards of performance and finish.

Cambridge South is a project that demonstrates Hambro Roofing's ability to deliver complex, high-profile roofing solutions where architectural ambition, technical performance and sustainability are equally important.

We are extremely proud to have contributed to such a significant project and to have played our part in creating what promises to be an iconic railway station for Cambridge.

We recently completed the second phase of works on this project utilizing an IKO built-up felt roofing system. While it turned out to be a nice job, the process was challenging due to the initial contractor going into administration. I'm sure many can relate to similar experiences in the industry. Great to revisit this completed roofing project 18 months on at Leisure United’s Bobby Moore Sports Hub, now fully established with Axter’s BioSolar system. Originally completed around two years ago, it's impressive to see how well the system has integrated and flourished over time.
