A Contemporary Transformation Behind a Traditional Façade.

At Thompson House, a traditional brick façade conceals a contemporary side and rear extension tucked away within a quiet residential cul-de-sac in Southwest London. The architecture reveals itself gradually, with black timber cladding emerging only as visitors approach the entrance.

Inside, an expansive open-plan kitchen, dining and living space is shaped by natural light and framed by views of the garden. Linear rooflights draw daylight deep into the property, while generous glazing strengthens the relationship between the interior and the surrounding landscape.

The result is a sequence of spaces that feel bright, calm, and connected to nature, even within a compact urban setting.
