The thoughtfulness with which our gorgeous clients considered every detail was heartening and inspiring. The building has what we call “good bones”; structurally stable, high ceilings and the spaces that were to remain the same had good proportions. And needing to update everything in many ways makes the job easier. There were elements that we tried to save - the entrance hall tiles for example, but they were too damaged and matching ones impossible to find.

So.. a lunge forward into the 21st century for this house with environmental updates that will give it another 100 year lease of life.

The previous owner had lived in this property for a very long time and was a well seasoned traveller and collector of things. Looking after the house was not a priority. It gave our clients the opportunity to give it the love it deserved.

It’s the usual story of awkward additions, a leaky conservatory, a 60’s garage that stepped forward of the main elevation and a lack of insulation. Heating and electrics needed updating. The addition of a small first floor extension added the home working space needed.

In a mad mad world, create your own peace with open spaces, views to a garden and warm tones. At the end of the day, we go home and it’s a place to catch a moment of repose.
This one is in a Conservation Area and is locally Listed. We completed this recently and haven’t managed to get professional photos yet so the images are a combination of our site photos, 3d drawings and enscape and photoshop.

It is really all about people for us. It’s about your style and lifestyle, your family, how you want to live. So, yes, the externals are very much guided by planning regulations, but how you make it work for you internally is very personal. There is a lot to be said for the day-to-day added quality of life over and above the property value. We’re good at helping articulate that in built form.

Kitchen heaven for modern day lives that meet in the heart of the home. Pick up the kids after work, start the dinner, hear the youngest read at the breakfast bar, the middle one doing homework at the dining table.

We didn’t extend much more than was already there. An old too hot/too cold conservatory was replaced with a well insulated extension with a green roof. The kitchen connected to the family and dining areas. Storage for toys and books. We helped make it a functional family home. Beautiful personal touches always by beautiful clients who make it a home.
