A lovely day Garden yesterday, speaking Partner Gardens Head Gardeners’ Forum 📖

I was invited to talk about relocating show gardens and creating permanent garden features — sharing some of my experiences of what happens after the flower show ends, and how gardens, plants and materials can find a new life elsewhere.

Really enjoyed sharing some of the projects I’ve been involved with, followed by a tour of the garden in the autumn sunshine. 🌿

One year on at the RHS Greener Skills Garden! 🌿

It was lovely to return to RHS Wisley last week to see how the garden has developed over its first year.

The planting is maturing beautifully, and it's particularly rewarding to see the garden being used as intended, providing a space for practical learning and helping to develop the next generation of horticulturists.

One of the most enjoyable parts of garden design is seeing how a space evolves long after the initial work is complete.

Some exciting news from Fukuoka! 🇯🇵🌿

Following my show garden: Spirit of the Forest winning Gold Medal and Best in Show at the Fukuoka Flower Show earlier this year, I’m delighted that the garden’s story is continuing in a new home in the heart of the city.

Work will be starting in the next few weeks to create a new version of the garden at Fukuoka City Hall, adapting the original design to its new urban setting while retaining the ideas and character at its heart.

It’s incredibly exciting for the flower show project to continue, and I’m looking forward to returning to Fukuoka in October to see the garden take shape and help bring the planting together.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped to create the garden at the flower show, and to everyone now working in Fukuoka making the next chapter of the garden possible. It really is a team effort 🌱

We're celebrating nine years of Dave Green Gardens, this week 🎉 🌿

When I started the business in 2017, I couldn’t have imagined where the journey would lead.

From our first Gold Medal in 2019 and an award-winning courtyard garden in 2021, to meeting His Majesty The King in 2023 and winning Gold at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2025—it has been quite an adventure.

Behind every milestone are the clients who placed their trust in us, the collaborators and suppliers who shared their expertise, and the brilliant people who helped bring each garden to life.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Dave Green Gardens over the past nine years. I’m enormously grateful—and still excited for what else is still to come 🙂

A little more from my recent trip to China 🌿🇨🇳

I took a trip to Kunming and couldn’t resist a visit to Kunming Botanical Garden.

There was so much to explore — from the glasshouses and more formal planting to some wonderfully lush woodland areas. I particularly enjoyed spotting plants I know from gardens back home growing in a completely different setting, alongside plenty I’d never come across before.

One of my favourite things about travelling is seeing how plants and landscapes change from place to place — and inevitably coming home with a few new ideas! 🌱

I went to see the Three Pagodas in Dali, China… but inevitably ended up looking at the trees 🌳🇨🇳

One of the things I love about travelling is discovering the plants and landscapes that surround historic places.

While visiting the Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple in Yunnan, China, I found myself paying almost as much attention to the trees as the pagodas themselves — from towering conifers to beautiful mature specimens creating shade throughout the temple gardens.

🌱 One of the things I enjoy most about creating show gardens is seeing what happens after the event. 🌱

Last week, after Sandringham Flower Show had finished, I visited to see how some of the materials from the exhibition had already found a new purpose.

Meadow turf, plants and planters that had been part of the display are now helping to create beautiful spaces for patients, families and visitors to enjoy.

It's wonderful to know that these materials will continue to make a positive difference long after the show has ended.☀️

A huge thank you to everyone at Tapping House Hospice for showing me around, and to everyone who helped make the relocation possible.

Sustainability 🌎 isn't just about reducing waste – it's about creating lasting value and giving gardens a life beyond the show.

It's the final day of the RHS Sandringham Flower Show! 🌿

Before the gates open this morning, here's a little behind-the-scenes look around the show.

The day starts with watering the Head Gardeners' Garden before visitors arrive, then it's time to explore some of the inspiring ideas on display.

In this reel you'll see: 🌱 The beautiful Mindful Chef Garden by Sophie Goober, featuring innovative 3D-printed bird and habitat boxes made from sawdust and corn starch

⚡ Kitty Kovács' garden, showcasing .official fascinating BIOO soil cells, which generate electricity from the natural activity of microorganisms in the soil.

It's been a privilege to be part of this year's show, and if you're planning to visit today, I'd love to see you at the Head Gardeners' Garden before the show closes at 5pm.

Day 1 at the RHS Sandringham Flower Show 🌿

The gates are open and it's been wonderful to have the chance to explore some of the fantastic gardens and displays created by so many talented designers, growers and exhibitors.

One of the things I love most about flower shows is the incredible variety of ideas and inspiration around every corner. Every garden tells a different story, and it's always exciting to see how each designer has approached their brief.

After a long day yesterday putting the finishing touches in place, the Head Gardeners' Garden is finally ready.

This morning, the gates open for Sandringham Flower Show, and I can't wait to welcome visitors to a display celebrating 21 of the UK's RHS Partner Gardens, their Head Gardeners, and the incredible work they do every day.

A huge thank you to the volunteers, the RHS team, and everyone who has helped bring this project together over the past few weeks. It's been a real team effort.
