"Be small and great: great in your work but small in your life, be simple, be humble." — Alber Elbaz, quoting his mother.
These words capture so much of the spirit that inspired this project.
Our proposal for AZ Factory Retail Corners explored how computational design and digital fabrication could translate Alber Elbaz's joyful approach to fashion into a retail experience. A modular architectural grid was combined with playful 3D printed cloud forms that became display, seating and sculptural moments, encouraging visitors to discover products through curiosity and interaction.
Every detail was developed to reflect the optimism, humour and humanity that made Alber's work so distinctive. It was a privilege to contribute to a project inspired by his creative vision.
Special thanks to Micha Weidmann, whose graphic work helped shape AZ Factory's identity and who introduced us to this remarkable collaboration. Micha is also the designer behind the logos for Dezeen and Fab.Pub. Thanks also to Andrew Black and everyone involved in developing the concept.
Although this concept was never realised, it remains a celebration of ideas, collaboration and Alber's enduring influence on design.
