🏆 A double award win for the Core Valley Lines Transformation Programme!
We are incredibly proud to celebrate two major wins at the British Construction & Infrastructure Awards, with the programme receiving both the prestigious Sir John Armitt Prize and the Transport Project Award.
Delivered in collaboration between Amey Infrastructure Wales and Transport for Wales, the £1.5bn programme is transforming 170km of railway across the South Wales Valleys, creating better connections and supporting cleaner, more reliable and accessible journeys.
The judges praised its “very strong and widespread community benefits” and highly collaborative culture, describing it as a “benchmark project” for the challenge ahead for Great British Railways.
Wayne Brigden, Business Director at Amey, said:
“Winning both awards is a fantastic achievement and something the whole team can be incredibly proud of. The programme is about much more than new infrastructure. It is creating better connections, supporting regeneration and making a lasting difference for passengers and communities across South Wales.”
