When Studio Octopi brought us on board for The Saddlery, a clever extension to an 1808 Georgian home, the goal was to bridge heritage architecture with clean, modern living.

To pull it off, our terrazzo was specified for both the indoor flooring and the outdoor courtyard. Using a single, continuous stone surface (TE007) blurs the line between inside and out, creating an effortless spatial flow while honouring the home's historic roots.

The art of Palladiana! Here’s a peek behind the scenes in our bespoke shop, where the team is hand-mapping a special Palladiana terrazzo layout. Unlike standard terrazzo with crushed aggregate, Palladiana uses large, irregular marble slabs set into a contrasting background mix.

Every single piece of stone is hand-selected and placed like a giant jigsaw puzzle to ensure the spacing and visual flow are just right before pouring. For the next step, we'll fill in the gaps with a more standard fine terrazzo mix, and then this pre-cast piece is ready for the final cut and polish!

Palladiana terrazzo has made a massive comeback on a grand scale, we’ve poured entire floors using these oversized, hand-placed marble slabs. But you don't need a huge commercial footprint to make a serious design statement.

Here is a look behind the scenes in our Bermondsey factory, where the team is hand-crafting and polishing a bespoke XL Palladiana tabletop. Every single piece of marble is placed by hand like a giant puzzle before being cast, ground down, and polished to bring out the natural depth of the stone.

When it comes to complex shapes and mixes our Vico project remains one of the most impressive showcases of what our bespoke shop can achieve. The brief called for sweeping, custom elements that pushed the boundaries of traditional stone fabrication—most notably the intricate, pre-cast curved fountain and bespoke bar tops.

Creating curved precast terrazzo at this scale requires absolute precision. Our factory team built custom moulds, carefully poured and cured the colourful aggregate mix, and hand-finished each curve to achieve a smooth, seamless finish. It completely defined the aesthetic of the space, and resulted in a joyful and exciting space.
