We’re looking forward to welcoming you to Camden’s Windrush Homecoming Celebration! 🎉

To help everyone enjoy the day safely and comfortably, here are a few things to know before you arrive:

💧 Stay hydrated
It’s going to be a hot day - please bring water with you and drink plenty throughout your visit.

🧴 Stay sun safe
Bring your suncream, wear a hat and take breaks in shaded areas where possible.

🐾 Dogs at the event
Due to crowds and warm weather, we ask that you walk your dog before or after the event rather than bringing them along. 🔥🐾Think of their little paws ! If you do bring your dog, they must be kept on a lead.

🚫 No glass on site
For everyone’s safety, glass bottles and containers are not permitted.

We cannot wait to bring the community together tomorrow for Camden’s Windrush Homecoming Celebration – a FREE family-friendly day celebrating Caribbean culture, heritage and community. 🎉

Meet your wonderful hosts:
🎤 Annaliese Dayes () – presenter, fashion content creator known for her appearances on Britain's Next Top Model, as well as her uplifting styling advice and engaging social media content. Plus, she's bringing Camden credentials as a former student of Camden School for Girls!

🎧 DJ Matt White () – broadcaster and DJ with roots in soul, reggae, calypso, jazz and funk. With a deep connection to Camden and the Windrush generation through his grandfather, who came from Grenada to Kentish Town, Matt brings music, heritage and storytelling together — reminding us why we’re here to honour the increidble contributions of the Windrush generation.

2 DAYS TO GO: The spirit of Carnival is coming to Camden 🌴🥁🎭

Get ready for a spectacular celebration of Caribbean culture in the Marketplace at Camden Windrush Homecoming 2026.

Joining us in the Marketplace:

🎭 Mahogany Carnival Arts () – Notting Hill Carnival favourites return with spectacular Carnival costume displays and creative workshops celebrating freedom, creativity and culture.

🎶 Camden Music () presents Camden Youth Steel Pans – A youth steel band, and the Saturday Pans – An adult community steel band. Both ensembles are part of the London Borough of Camden's Music Service, which works with more than 4,500 children and young people every week across Camden schools and offers over 45 music groups and ensembles for young people to join.

🥁 Steel Pan Music CIC () – Local grassroots music collective will have a stall sharing opportunities to experience the joy of steel pan music through demonstrations and community engagement.

Just a few days to go until the Annual Pitt Lecture 2026, and we're down to our final tickets.

If Notting Hill Carnival holds a special place in your heart, this is an evening you won't want to miss.

Join Marcus Ryder MBE for a thought-provoking keynote, followed by a conversation with Shelley Paterson and Cllr Sabrina Francis, as we celebrate 60 years of Carnival and explore its legacy, its roots in Camden, and what it continues to mean for our communities today.

💚 Expect an evening of inspiration, reflection and connection. 💚

Arrive early for a complimentary welcome drink, meet like-minded people, reconnect with familiar faces, and be part of a warm and uplifting evening celebrating Black British history, culture and community.

Get ready for a summer of theatre, exhibitions, film, food and community celebrations showcasing the cultures, creativity and stories of South Asian communities across Camden.

A powerful new play inspired by Camden's anti-racism movement in the 1990s.

💚 Community-powered Windrush celebrations next Saturday! 💚

Community is at the core of what we do, so it's wonderful to be bringing so many organisations and community groups together who support our borough all year round 🤝🌍

We'll be sharing more in the coming days but to mention a few, we're delighted to welcome:

Talacre Play Service (.acre): thriving local hub who will be leading family play activities
Joining Communities CIC (): local residents and community organisation are holding a stall where people can learn about their mental health hub, activities and support
Camden Black British History Community Hub: hosting their annual tea party 'Our Beloved Elders'
Itch Radio (): Camden-based community radio station and youth broadcasting collective who will be performing on stage and gathering broadcast experience on the day
Dan Carrier ( and the ): Local DJ spinning heritage music selection in the marketplace
Steel Pan Music CIC ( ): local grassroots music collective who will be sharing the joy of steel pan music through demos and engagement
Elevate Advocacy () - a social enterprise committed to supporting care leavers, individuals involved in the criminal justice system and young homeless individuals will have an info stall

🎤 We’re delighted to announce that Shelley Paterson will be joining the post-talk discussion at the Annual Pitt Lecture 2026, alongside Cllr Sabrina Francis, Cabinet Member for Jobs, Young People and Culture, following the keynote address from Marcus Ryder MBE.

Born and raised in Camden, Shelley is a writer, cultural commentator and founder of blackpeoplesbusiness, a cultural blog & platform exploring Black life through commentary, conversation and storytelling. Her work examines Black identity, society and lived experience through personal reflection and cultural analysis. Drawing from her experiences as a Black woman in the UK, she explores the complexities of contemporary Black British life.

🌦️ The weather may not have got the summery memo... but that didn't stop Camden from bringing joyful vibes for our Summer Street Fiesta on Saturday! 🎶💃

A huge thank you to all of our amazing performers, partners and contributors who kept the energy levels sky high despite the rain and got everyone involved throughout the day. It was fantastic to see people of all ages coming together and making the most of everything on offer, brollies in hand ☔❤️

Whether you joined in the dance workshops with 💃, got creative with the artwork and family activities from 🎨, enjoyed the incredible sounds of 🎺 and the scene-stealing 🥁, or jumped into a kickabout with 's very own Gunnersaurus ⚽, there was something for everyone.

We were also treated to brilliant performances from the talented young people of and 's Remix Dance School 🌟, while local legends 🎵 brought their unmistakable Camden energy to close the day in style.

And one of our favourite moments? Watching join forces with and for a cultural crossover nobody saw coming... but everyone loved! 😂❤️🥁⚽🎵

Thank you to everyone who came along, joined in, performed and helped make it such a memorable day. Rain or shine, Camden always knows how to party
