Six millimetres was the margin that decided the engineering of a 72-metre independent access scaffold in the heart of the City of London.

Tomorrow night, we're looking forward to joining our colleagues in the industry at ScaffEx for the Scaffolding Excellence Awards in Manchester, hosted by NASC - National Access and Scaffolding Confederation.

Working with Agile Design Consultancy Ltd, we built something that had never existed until this project needed it, and it has changed what we think a scaffold tie can do.

This September, TeamMR laces up for Tough Mudder! 💪

15 kilometres of mud, water and obstacles all in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Too many of us have watched someone we love fight something far harder than an obstacle course, and because research is what actually gives people a fighting chance, we're contributing.

Charing Cross - a landmark rail project in the heart of London.

The station is currently undergoing one of London’s most high-profile rail renewal programmes, with works taking place during a planned 22-day closure to allow major platform, track and structural upgrades to be delivered.

We are proud to be supporting the Charing Cross platform renewal works with scaffold crash decks, helping create safe access for the demolition of the existing concrete platforms and the steelwork removal that follows.

On a project like this, access has to be planned around the full lifecycle of the works: materials, shifts, lifting operations, demolition, platform renewal and the safe movement of people through the station.

With a tightly controlled programme and a landmark London station in full view, every sequence matters.

This is where planned access earns its place: protecting the work, supporting the teams and helping essential rail infrastructure move forward safely.

Third generation joining the business.

It’s great to see Charlie Trayfoot, the third generation of the Trayfoot family, joining M R Scaffolding Services after completing his carpentry apprenticeship.

Charlie started in the yard and has already been out on site, installing non-slip plywood to gantries, hoist run-offs and ramps, with hoarding next on the list as he continues building his experience from the ground up.

A quick breakfast at the Regency Café in Victoria gave John and Charlie a chance to catch up away from the noise of site. A lovely reminder of what family businesses are built on: time, trust, hard work and people willing to learn.

A proud dad moment, and an M R moment too.
