🏠 Low-Pitched Extension Roof – Before & After

This extension roof had a very low pitch, dictated by the upstairs windows, but tiles had been installed that were not suitable for the pitch.

We removed the existing tiles and installed an Airflow timber system, followed by a zinc hard-metal roofing system designed for the low pitch.

A much more suitable and durable solution, while working within the restrictions of the existing building.

Before & After – FSG & Timber Replacement

Another roofline brought back into shape.

The existing fascia, soffit and guttering were in poor condition, with sections of rotten timber behind them. We removed the defective timber, replaced it where required, and installed new FSG to give the roofline a clean, weatherproof finish.

On this project, we carried out the complete removal of the existing rotten timber fascia and soffit boards, replacing them with brand-new, high-quality uPVC. We also installed new deep-flow guttering and downpipes.

✅ Brand new high-performance asphalt roof installation
✅️ A white, solar-reflective coat
✅ New lead capping fitted around the entire perimeter
✅ Bitumen upstands installed for a fully watertight finish
✅ Independent lead flashing installed around the perimeter for long-term protection and durability

This side extension was suffering from multiple leaks, with water ingress occurring in several locations due to poor workmanship and incorrect roofing methods.

The homeowner called in the experts at Kingfisher Roofing Ltd to put things right.

The roof required a complete strip back to the rafters. Unsurprisingly, the roof windows had been incorrectly installed and were simply sliding out when exposed. We removed all defective work and completely rebuilt the roof using the correct roofing practices and industry-approved methods.

The result is a watertight, professionally installed roof built to last.

We have fully stripped and rebuilt a water tank structure, carrying out a complete refurbishment from start to finish.

Works included:

• Removal of old tanks and installation of new units
• All new timber work and studwork
• New timber doors fitted on hinges
• New ironmongery including locks, handles and hinges
• New cladding installed
• Guttering system renewed
• Felt roofing system applied for full weather protection

We’ve just wrapped up a stunning transformation on this mid-terrace Victorian home in London. This wasn’t just a repair — it was a full revival of a classic Victorian Butterfly (London) Roof.
The Challenge:
Decades of wear had taken their toll. Failed slates, leaking lead-lined box gutters, and severely rotted timber meant the original roof structure had completely collapsed in areas.
The homeowners wanted a permanent solution that respected the property’s heritage.

What We Did:
✅ Full strip-back of the existing roof
✅ Supplied and installed a brand-new timber roof structure
✅ Installed insulation to meet current building regulations, including loft insulation.
✅ Fitted TLX Gold insulating breather membrane over the rafters, combined with multifoil insulation to reflect heat back into the property while allowing moisture to escape
✅️ counterbatten and crossbatten
✅ Installed premium Spanish slates for a timeless and durable finish
✅ Added slate vents to ensure proper roof ventilation
✅ Hand-crafted Code 5 leadwork, including central box gutters and cover flashings

This project features a three-layer Soprema felt roofing system, delivering outstanding waterproofing, durability, and long-term performance. it gives our client total peace of mind.
To complete the look and enhance the protection, we installed a Code 5 lead welded capping on the coping stones. This premium finish not only safeguards against water ingress but also adds a refined, timeless aesthetic to the property.

✅ All roof windows removed
✅ Supplied and fitted a 3-layer Soprema Sopratorch roofing system
Due to the roof being low level, we installed an independent Ubiflex lead flashing, which has no scrap value, making it far less attractive to thieves.
✨ The skylight windows were custom-made to suit their unique size.
For added security, we also installed internal security bars beneath the windows to prevent any unauthorised access to the premises.
Another quality job completed with durability, safety, and security in mind. 👌
