Design starts with understanding people.
When this renovation began, the house no longer fitted a modern day lifestyle. It was more closed off and squared in, with elements like thick brown carpet and silk wallpaper that were clearly high quality, but no longer to the client’s taste.
Before designing, we spent time understanding how the home needed to work, how the kitchen could open up, what the doors should feel like, and how to resolve the central pillar. Those early conversations mattered because the design had to reflect the people living there, their health, their wellbeing, their ambitions and the way they wanted to live.
After several design iterations, the key features were incorporated and the result became their dream home.
Plenty more to come from this project.
